4 reasons why you should try IPL at home

As most women know, hair removal can be a seriously time-consuming beauty chore. Whether you choose to shave, wax, epilate or use depilatory creams, it takes a significant amount of time and effort to get hair-free – that’s why we’ve fallen in love with IPL devices like the Remington i-LIGHT® Pro+ Face & Body.
IPL stands for Intense Pulse Light and offers permanent hair reduction from the comfort of your own home. That’s right, you can get fuzz-free for the party season and beyond without getting off the couch! For those who are time-poor or sick of the constant upkeep of traditional hair removal methods, IPL hair removal is an ideal choice.
So if you’re considering making the switch to IPL, we’re here to shed some light on the IPL process and share the top 4 reasons why it might just change your life.
1. It’s cost-effective
When you think about all the costs associated with your hair removal method of choice, they start to add up. Whether it’s a monthly wax appointment at your local beauty salon or regular re-stocks of your favourite depilatory creams, hair removal can take a serious toll on your wallet over the years.
Thankfully, the Remington i-LIGHT® Pro+ Face & Body will put an end to all those wallet-draining products and appointments. While one full IPL salon treatment can cost as much as $1200, you can pick up the i-LIGHT® Pro+ Face & Body device for less than half the price at just $488 from Harvey Norman. It also comes with an Infinity Bulb, which means that you’ll never need to replace it. And thanks to the interchangeable attachment caps, you can treat multiple areas of the body with one device, rather than shelling out for each area at the salon.
Plus, if you’ve still got reservations about buying an IPL hair removal device, Remington have got your back. Purchase the Remington i-LIGHT® Pro+ Face & Body by the 31st December 2017 and you will receive $100 cash back*! And with a two year warranty and a 90 Day Money Back Guarantee, it’s a risk-free, long-term hair removal solution that will last for years to come.
2. It’s convenient
Making the regular trek to the beauty salon for your waxing or laser hair removal appointment is rarely without hassle. After all, you’ve got to find an appointment time that works around the salon opening hours and when you do, you’ve got to check that the time slot fits into your busy schedule. Not to mention the nerve-wracking experience of de-robing in front of a total stranger for the treatment!
The Remington i-LIGHT® Pro+ Face & Body gently removes unwanted hair in the comfort and privacy of your own home, so you can do it at a time that suits you. It’s simple and easy to use while still maintaining its effectiveness at removing any unwanted hair^, so you can even do it while you’re binge-watching TV on your couch. WIN!
3. It works for your body and your face
While you might be using standard razors or depilatory creams on your legs, it’s a safe bet that you’re not using the same products on more sensitive areas like the face.
Far from just being useful on large areas of the body, IPL is great for reducing hair growth in more delicate areas. With the right IPL hair removal device, you can easily treat the hair on your upper lip, chin and cheeks.
The Remington i-LIGHT® Pro+ Face & Body has two interchangeable attachment caps that ensure the best treatment for each section of your body. The 3cm body cap is best for targeting large areas like the legs, underarms, bikini line, chest, back and arms, while the specially-designed 2cm facial cap allows for a gentle, more precise treatment of delicate female facial areas below the cheekbone. Sayonara, peach fuzz!
4. Results are safe, permanent and seen quickly
At-home IPL might sound intimidating, but rest assured that it’s completely safe and relatively painless with a high-quality IPL hair removal device. The Remington i-LIGHT® Pro+ Face & Body has been clinically proven to be safe, effective and is recommended by dermatologists** for gentle hair removal.
IPL also offers the benefit of permanent, long-lasting hair removal. The more you treat the area, the less you will need to use the IPL device. The intense pulses of light from the device gently disable the hair follicle and prevent hair regrowth, which means you can skip the salon and easily maintain your hair removal at home.
And don’t think that forgoing that salon laser hair removal appointment will mean seeing less results. Using an IPL hair removal device at home is not only easier on your wallet and your schedule, you could also notice a reduction in your hair growth in as little as four weeks. In fact, users of the Remington i-LIGHT® Pro+ Face & Body saw up to 94% fewer hairs after just three treatments⁺. It’s also recommended by CHOICE users as of March 2017.

I have super pale skin and blonde hair so as much as i'd love to use this, apparently it's not for people like me.

I'm blonde, so it wouldn't work for me I think. It is still quite expensive, so I think I would still to shaving, anyway.

I would only recommend DIY IPL if you are organised and committed to your beauty regime. I've had mine for over a year and have used it three times because I forget/find more important things to do. But in saying that it is super easy to use :)

Yup, still using it regularly. My one is with lower frequency, so it is gentle, but takes time to eliminate all of the hair. However, I have so little left, that I really do not care. Just using for maintenance now once per month . Love the gadget!

I'm pretty sure I don't need this. Pale skin, blonde hair and the hair I want removed doesn't grow that quickly either. I'll just stick to the razor or wax strips.

I really want to try laser but I hear mixed things about spray tanning, some say you can do laser the day before then get a tan, others say you can't tan at all, very confusing!

I was planning on starting laser but this sounds more promising!

This sale price plus cash back is really tempting but without having tried it I’m still hesitant....

I used this product and after two uses I started to notice a difference. I started to see bald patches in the areas I had used the IPL. It's easy to use at home and much cheaper than having to get waxed every 6 weeks.

It sounds like a great deal, but I'm pretty sure my hair would be too fair for it to work on me.

I've ordered this recently & started using it a week ago, just after one use I can see fewer regrowth! I was very skeptical but I've always wanted to try it out & I read various reviews with most expressing positive feedback - so I bit the bullet & ordered it, it was best the thing I did! Will leave a review when I have tried it out a few more times. Definitely much cheaper than going to the salon & you can do it yourself - I personally don't like foreign hands touching my body ha ha! Coming from a pessimist, letting you ladies know that it works & results are visible from first use, I can imagine it will only get better with regular use. I hope this helps! :)

Our misfortune8 also provides an incredibly detailed forum thread on her experiences with her IPL. I highly recommend checking it out.

I'd love to try it but I'd need a lot more proof that its going to work before I'll be buying one. Given how many hair types its not suitible for it would be interesting to see the selection criteria for those who tested it to give such high success rates.

At Harvey Norman it's only $488 at the moment and with the $100 cashback it would come down to $388, making it less than half price! x

Isn't it $488 with a $100 cash back? Or is it a different product?
