Is it worth buying an IPL device?
We’ve been talking a lot about IPL over the last few weeks and now that we’ve covered how it works and how to use it, it’s time to answer the question everyone wants to know: “is it worth it?”
bh’s Sam has been using the Philips Lumea Precision Plus for the past two months and in the video above, she shares her thoughts about it. If you’re in the mood to read, we’ve also listed her key points below.
Have you tried the Philips Lumea Precision Plus yourself? Please share your review with us here. We love hearing about your experiences!
Key point #1: “After just one month, I could tell there was less hair.”
Key point #2: “It comes with different attachments so I can do my legs, underarms, bikini and face using the one device.”
Key point #3: “It doesn’t hurt at all! You’ll just feel a little warmth from the light.”
Key point #4: “It’s cordless and I love the fact I can do it in front of the TV.”
Key point #5: “It is an investment. But when you break down the costs and how long it will last (over twenty years!), it comes to about $3.50 per treatment.”
Have you ever tried IPL?

I'm going to have another at the one I have tucked away here. It's a different brand but I did find it made a difference when I tried it before.

Sounds like great value if results are there, and the instructions on usage are clear.

I like the sound of it but wonder whether my hair is too fair for it to work.

Painless hair removal sounds good to me.

Yes I'll put my hand up for this kind of hair removal.

I would love a device like this! Sam's review answered a few questions on my mind, such as how many flashes the device has. I like how she broke down the cost.

I would love to be able to factor this into my budget at the moment, as I really love the idea of longer term results and hate shaving. The only thing I get waxed these days is my eyebrows, which are totally worth it. I have tried the in salon treatments for permanent hair reduction in the past, but the location and time factor at the time didn't allow me to continue with the treatments, which were starting to show very good results

I would love another IPL update or better still a battle of the brands and see which brand comes out on top for 2016.

It probably isn't as powerful but well worth a try.

I love the sound of this if it really is painless. That's what I've been told about epilating too, and nope, I feel pain.
Wouldn't mind an updated review on the results a year on.

I'm hearing you Sam, I'm not keen on dropping my undies either! I been waxing myself for years but I need to up the game plan. I am 43 this year and I don't want to look like a hairy goat so I need to get serious.
I have dark hair, does it work on dark hair? Does it work well enough for me to buy one?

They're so pricey though. The fact that it doesn't hurt is great, I I have no idea if they're really worth it.

I'd buy it but I am sceptical to say the least. Most home devices are just gimmicks and stop working pretty quickly. If they had a 2 year warranty and a money back guarantee I'd buy.

I want one of these hair removal devices, it sounds like a wonderful investment in my books, thanks for the review.

If it really doesn't hurt I'm in. I'm sick off waxing, shaving and threading.

What's the warranty like on this particular device? I haven't had much luck with other Phillips appliances and devices I have purchased in the past. They tend to not last past twelve months...
