9 things all girls who shave can relate to

Removing hair is a constant battle for women, with many of us choosing the razor as our weapon of choice. But as experienced shavers will know, this cost-effective and easy-to-use method has its ups and downs. And if you’re new to shaving, these are just some of the things you have to look forward to...
#1 That post-shave feeling
“I’m as slippery as a seal. A smooth, silky goddess. I’m never wearing pants again!”
Get it every time with this terrific trio:
#2 Cursing goosebumps
Aka those evil, little bumps that make your hairs stick up! Whenever there’s a slight wind, you find yourself rubbing your legs furiously and you also have to steer clear of anything heart-warming or inspiring.
#3 Finding the patch you missed
Usually around the knee area. No matter how meticulously you watch every stroke, you’ll always miss a spot. The worst is when it’s an entire strip up your leg.
#4 Forgetting to replace your razor
And then you go through the entire process of shaving your legs, underarms, EVERYWHERE before realising the blades are so blunt, it did nothing.
#5 Accidentally nicking yourself
“Whoops, seem to have hit a major artery here. I had no idea my ankle could contain so much blood. Would you look at that? Oh, that’s scabbing for sure.”
#6 Only shaving the area that will be showing
Especially since the midi-skirt trend came along. Why shave your entire leg when you can get away with just the ankle or only half your calf?
#7 Annoying red bumps
The rashy-looking reaction always happens at the worst of times. Like when you’re in a hurry to get to a party or didn’t think you’d be bringing someone home and had to do a rush job… Here’s how to stop them from appearing.
#8 The first shave post-winter
When you finally break out a new razor after weeks (sometimes months) of wearing pants and stockings to shed your winter coat. This usually involves rinsing the head after each stroke due to the sheer volume of fur that gets stuck between the blades. It’s bittersweet, really!
#9 Squeezing out ingrown hairs
Gross, I know. But also oddly satisfying. The real pain is trying to reach the ones protruding on your underarm.
If you’re not so fond of squeezing, Extract It and Bump eRaiser Medi Paste are lifesavers.

Ahaha... I find it quite satisfying being sneaky and only shaving half my calf, thinking 'no one will ever know...'

HAHA this article is brilliant! A real laugh! I've been using Hydrosilk for years and I love it! The Trishave Shave Creme is fantastic as well.

I HATE shaving! The red bumps & ingrown hairs are the reason I started epilating. I LOVE my epilator! On rare occasions when I shave, I use fragrance free sorbolene as a shaving cream. It prevents the red bumps & you don't have to moisturise afterwards, just rinse off the stubble & pat dry.

I am at no 8, the winter shave. It is happening because when I shower it is like a scene from Gorillas in the Mist. It is too long to wax.
I really get cross with myself when I let things get out of control like this.

Ugh, I can definitely relate to most of those, especially shaving only what will be showing! Which means I get lazy during winter :P

As soon as I get a new razor I always end up nicking myself. Always by my ankles which is so painful!

I was not a fan of the sugar berry razor (at all). I found the best razor for me recently was a bunch of cheapies I bought overseas in April in New York. Good old CVS!

I also enjoy these gifs, and um, glad to see I’m not the only in-grown hair squeezer.

I definitely relax my shaving routine during winter. When I put tights on and the hairs are poking through the teeny holes in the tights, it's time to do something about it!
