Make your life a touch more Lush
Rowena is the founder of this ecologically sustainable beauty brand, and she prides herself on adopting ethical practices in all areas of her brand – such as having very minimal packaging on most products, and none for those that don’t require it.
Lush also recently re-vamped their entire soap collection when they discovered that the palm oil used in its products was being sourced from areas where deforestation was at an all-time high, leaving a lot of wildlife - in particular, native orangutans - without a home. Since then, palm oil hasn’t been used in any Lush Cosmetics. All you’ll find in their wonderfully scented soaps, hair care and skincare is fresh organic fruit and vegetables, the finest essential oils, and safe synthetics – so that you can ensure your beauty regime isn’t affecting the environment.
Another great initiative Lush has come up with just in time for Christmas is their fabulous eco gift-wrapping service aptly labelled the ‘Lush Knot-Wrap’. Inspired by the Japanese art of Furoshiki, which literally means “cloth for the bath”, customers are encouraged to purchase a beautiful scarf, which is used to wrap the gifts bought from the store. The scarves are reusable and multipurpose, not to mention a perfect bonus to an already awesome gift! Why not pick up the Lush Creamy Candy Bubble Bar for that special person in your life, and top it off with a scarf they can use again and again?
