How-to: Apply a face tan without fear
If you’ve never tried a face tan before, it can be quite daunting. But with the right technique and the right products, you really have nothing to worry about.
As the skin on the face is quite delicate compared to the rest of the body, the lines between skin care and self tan are blurring. St Tropez has created innovative products that not only deliver a bronzed, healthy glow but also incorporate skin care benefits for the best results.
The video above shows exactly how to apply the St Tropez face tan for a flawless finish.

Don’t feel like watching our video? Follow this step-by-step guide instead:
STEP 1. Apply an emollient balm on your eyebrows and any dark spots to prevent them from darkening.
STEP 2. Apply a small amount of tan evenly onto the skin with light sweeping motions. Make sure you blend the tan all the way up to the hairline. When you’re done, wash your hands and wipe off any excess tan from the eyebrows.
STEP 3. While your face tan is developing, apply a tan to your body for that top-to-toe glow.
STEP 4. Once your tan has developed, apply make-up as usual.

I use the Le Tan oil drops on my face and use 5 drops with one pea sized amount of the skin natural moisturiser and turns out perfect subtle tan every time

Seem so easy but I would not put makeup over the top of it. I would be doing it at home in the arvo.

Brilliant job by Sam but I'm not going there any time soon - pale skin forever for me.

I used to wear face tanner and it worked a treat - really evened out my skin tone to the extent I didn't need to wear foundation and people commented on my "glow". These days, however, I worry about putting too many chemicals on my face and if you cleanse your face thoroughly it removes most of the tan as well.

Excellent tanning information, thanks Sam. I still do not know if I would use a tanner on my face, I never say never though.

Less nervous after watching this. Will give it a go when I have a few days I don't have to go out, just in case.

I've never fake tanned but wow she looks amazing after I am getting tempted to try, but is it good for someone 40+ ? Be nice to go without the full face foundation powder bronzer routine!

I'm trialling a new mousse fake tan. I'm not sure whether I am game enough to try it on my face yet.

Great tips, easy to follow steps and a beautiful result. I have had a St Tropez tan for over a decade now. I have never tried their face tans, using tinted moisturisers, bb and cc creams instead. They look like they have improved their product to be skincare like and minimises the makeup you then need to wear in summer. I also really hope to try their dry oil, as it sounds ideal for my dry skin and their express tan has me intrigued. Love St Tropez and Sam looks so pretty in the after. I'll settle for looking like a healthier version of me :-)
