Mid-year holiday prep

Heading off on a holiday in the next few months? Well, aren’t you a lucky thing! While we couldn’t be more jealous of your jet-setting ways, we won’t let that won’t stop us from helping you prepare for your mid-year getaway.
Whether you’re setting off on a trip to warmer climates to soak up some summer sun or you’re spending some time in the snow for a ski holiday, there are certain things you’ll need to do before you go.
Summer getaway
If you’re heading away from the cold and onto a beach, you’ll need to make sure that you’re summer ready.
Get rid of flaking: dry, scaly skin may be well hidden in winter, but it isn’t exactly what you want to be showing off during summer. Slough away those unwanted dead skin cells with soothing and softening Franc Essentials Body Glow.
Hydrate your skin: exfoliating away those dead skin cells isn’t enough to make sure your skin is beach-ready, so you’ll want to add some moisture too. Planet Eve Organic Luxe Body Cream has enough shea butter, jojoba, and macadamia to make sure you won’t see a day of dry skin while you’re away (just don’t forget to take some with you!). Dove Indulgent Nourishment Body Lotion for Extra Dry Skin is also a great supermarket staple for scaly skin. It's formulated with a rich blend of moisturising creams and shea butter to keep your body nourished and hydrated for up to 24 hours. Plus it comes in at less than a tenner, so you know it won't eat into your holiday funds!
Go fuzz-free: smooth, sexy legs are synonymous with summer, so remember to get rid of any unwanted hair before you jet off. If you’re a razor girl, Schick Intuition Naturals Sensitive Care will do the trick while moisturising your legs at the same time. If wax strips are more your thing, then 1000 Hour Ultra-Thin Wax Strips will give you the mess-free, smooth results you need.
Give yourself some colour: by now, any hint of your summer sun-kissed glow has faded, and if you’re looking to start your holiday with a bit of colour, then Custom Tan Rich Self Tanning and Instant Bronze Mousse is just what you need. And to make your faux glow really last, use Custom Tan’s SLS-Free Goat’s Milk & Honey Soap. The 100 per cent natural soap will ensure your skin is clean, soft, and hydrated - and it won’t strip the fake tan colour from your skin.
Winter wonderland
There’s not too much preparation needed before a winter holiday, but if you’re going to the snow it’s vital you maintain a good beauty routine and make sure you have some nourishing products with you (if you don’t want to look like a dry, cracked wreck, that is).
Slather on the cream: it’s easy to forget to moisturise, but this is a not-to-be-missed step when you’re out in the cold. QV Cream, so rich and nourishing that it can keep the skin on your elbows, knees, and hands soft, will be a perfect staple for your skiing holiday.
Don’t forget your SPF: it may not be warm in the snow, but the sun can still cause damage, so you’ll want a high-protection SPF to keep your skin protected. Guinot Ultra Defense SPF 50 Very High Protection Sun Cream will protect your skin from UVA and UVB rays as well as help soothe and combat redness.
Pay your hair some attention: cold weather dries out your hair as much as it does your skin, so make sure you’re not neglecting your locks. Avocado and grape seed oils in L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil will keep your hair nourished, repaired, and protected from root to tip.
No one likes chapped lips: just like you need to look after the skin on your body and face while out in the snow, you also need to look after the skin on your lips (especially as they’re exposed to the cold and wind all the time). Keep your lips soft and utterly kissable with Carmex® Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm.

The QV Cream is definitely worth stocking up on before any mid year holidays. It is somwething I just purchased but because I am so impressed I think I will continue to use past the first bottle. I have dry skin all year round and this seems to be working really well to keep this problem at bay,

Sigh, no holiday for a while. The Dove Indulgent Body Lotion actually sounds good for winter as well.

Haven 't had a holiday for 12 years! I grew up near the snow and went cross country skiing every year as a kid but it's not my thing as an adult. Too expensive and crowded for my liking. Rather be fishing in Queensland lol

I aemm a real winter girl, love the cold and wet- which we never seem to get in Perth. I am off to KL in two weeks time for my birthday. Not sure how I will cope with the heat but at least you can hide in a mega mall all day :)
