The true power of a tan

Whether it’s with make-up, hair or skin care, beauty is all about enhancing what you’ve already got to be the best and most confident version of yourself.
But what you may not realise is just how much a self-tan can uplift your entire look, even when you’re not wearing any make-up.
To prove to you the true power of a tan, three members of the bh team (Rosie, Carli and Issy) tried out the new Rimmel SunShimmer Self Tan Mousse in all three shades. The aim? To see the difference it would make to their overall look, and if it worked both with and without make-up. The results are definitely a must-see:
Rosie tried the Rimmel SunShimmer Mousse in the Light shade, as her skin is quite fair. Thanks to the green base of the tan, the colour came out really natural, giving Rosie’s bare skin a healthy glow that doesn’t look ‘fake’ at all.
Rosie would also usually spend quite some time blending in her bronzer, but thanks to the natural glow of the tan she found it applied flawlessly with minimal effort.

Carli’s skin tone is slightly darker than Rosie’s, so she tried the Medium shade. Carli often finds that her skin looks dull and ‘tired’ without make-up, and loved the fact that her complexion looked instantly revitalised when she used the self-tan.
She also found that she was able to use less foundation when she had the tan on, as it had already done the hard work of evening out and enhancing her skin.

Issy used the Dark shade and even though it’s the darkest in the range, there’s still no trace of orange. The tan has simply enhanced her skin and given her face and body a colour boost. Issy loved how her bronzed complexion gave her lip colour extra oomph and had never thought of wearing a coral lipstick until she saw how good it looked with her self-tan.

From all three make-up free photos, you can see that Rimmel SunShimmer Self Tan Mousse gives skin a natural, post-holiday hue – no matter whether you use the Light, Medium or Dark variant. The tan will last for seven days but, thanks to its lightweight and extremely buildable formulation, you can actually re-apply once a week for three weeks, without it looking patchy or streaky. It also has no fake tan smell (partners and husbands rejoice!), dries in just two minutes and develops in a an hour, so the whole process is really super easy – which is what you want from a self-tan, right?

I cant see anything different on Rosie at all. I love gradual tanners, you take control of how dark you want to go.

I have embraced my pale skin, so I really don't get the love for fake tans. Having said that, the results of this tanning product look more natural compared to many others that I have seen.
