i am getting married in january and have really bad dark circles under my eyes that never seem to move, does anyone have any suggestions on a remedy??
Lots of sleep? Or a make up fix, go buy Touche Eclat (Radiant Touch) by Yves Saint Laurant - its the original and the best. Or maybe start getting some eye treatments at a beauty salon? Dermalogica are doing 20 minute eye revivals (see article on Beauty Heaven)
Fortunately I do not get this even though I am a sleep deprived mum... most of the mums I know do get it, but my beauty therapist says I probably don't get it because I don't really drink coffee or cola, but I drink about 3 litres of water a day and chamomile tea at night - apparently the dark circles are more related to hydration and kidney function. Chamomile tea whilst being a good way to make up your water intake is really good for cleansing liver and kidneys... Some people don't like the taste but I sweeten with Stevia or Xylitol (both from health food store) and sometimes I add a dash of Ribena for flavour... leading up to your wedding, the chamomile helps keep your skin clearer/blemish free, that's if this is a problem for you... hope this helps... :)
I would try a detox, go completely off caffiene and alcohol until your wedding (ok your hens night!), and maybe get a lymphatic drainage massage to cleanse your system. Try drinking herbal teas as glamourcat mentioned to improve the cleansing process. I don't get them often but when I do I use Napolean Perdis concealer in amber, you don't need much. It is the particular shade that neutralizes the colour, not the quantity.
i used to get really bad circles no matter how much i slept. i think galmourcat's right about the kidney and hydration thing. i found that as soon as i started exercising they went right away and haven't come back since.
nivea has a dark circle product that works really well, about 6 weeks before my wedding i did a week at a health centre, i did a detox, was treated really well and i also used this product. i also kept the detox principles going, i still drink about 2 litres of water a day, eat mainly fresh fruit and vegies and lean meat.
Estee Lauder had a good product out- dark circles- it seems to lighten up the area around the eye. I've heard of people putting tea bags under their eyes- don't know if that helps?!?!?!
I have dark circles under my eyes to and i try to sleep alot when they get bad or I have been told to use make up but I havent tryed it yet.
A yelllow concealer is really effective in covering dark circles beneath eyes.
Dark circles can be hereditary! So there isn't so much you can do in eliminating it altogether. It may seem that when you are tired your dark circles are worse, what is actually happening however, is your skin is a little paler when you are sleep deprived, sick or hungover, thus making the circles more noticeable. Also if you have sinus problems or allergies, you more than likely will have dark circles to some degree. I am still trying to find products that help decrease the obviousness of my dark circles, so far I have found yellow-based concealers pretty good. I wish you all the best for your wedding, and hope you find a treatment/product right for you =)
I too get dark circles under my eyes, no matter how much sleep I get. I do find that I can reduce the effect by drinking plenty of water, reducing caffeine intake and applying a concealer prior to foundation. I've tried some of the green and yellow ones, but actually find that the Covergirl Foundation/Concealer stick gives the best results.
i love revlon concealer for eyes, its magical
Put cold teabags gently on your eyes even cucumber is good also sleep
use a lighter concealer helps
Another thing my Biotherm consultant told me was when you are putting on eye cream put it on in circular motions from inner to outer because it is meant to take away some of the toxins in that area (apparently its connected to the lymphatic system). I think it has started to work for me! Good luck =)
I have really bad undereye circles too, i feel like i look like ive got two black eyes sometimes! Can anyone recommend a eyecream for me? Ive found one but on a student budget it seems a bit too pricey :(
Currently I'm using Naked Glow's Eye Lift (it is a eye-cream) - it works for me. I cant remember how much it is - have a look at the internet site - I'm not to sure what it is though - might have to google it.
I just think a good concealer is a quick fix remedy but it only hides the problem. Get hold of some good eye cream it might help.
Dehydration will make circles worse so drink plenty of water. Also try some white or light pink eyeshadow on the bottom eyelid and white eyeshadow up in the corner of the outerlid just below the eyebrow to whiten the appearance of dark circles
Thanks for that tip tomboy. Still looking for a good cream, may have to start looking at anti-aging ones.
Sadly I too suffer from dark circle syndrome and it has nothing to do with how much I sleep. I have been using a Matis product called Les Yeux Repairing Eye Cream. It is for both day and night use and has dramatically reduced the appearance of my dark circles. Sadly at approx. $100 it isn't cheap, but well worth it!
Sleep more, drink more water and use concealer! I also find that creams with luminous particles brighten up the eye area - the arden Intervene one has shimmery bits. I'm not sure whether an eye cream really can lighten the eye area permanently, I've not found one that has yet!
omg. im a mum of 2 and have never had dark circles and puffy eyes, untll i recently started getting on the booze. s&%!. i never knew that s%$! gave ya such a bad look.
now that i know that... im going to have to drink a lot more water and tea!!!
I have always had dark circles and puffy eyes (I got them from my mum!!) and while they never completely go away, having a healthy lifestyle definitely helps. Because of the circles/puffiness I have been using eye creams since I was 17 and I have found that using an eye gel in the morning can help (I use an eye cream at night, but find the gels make the puffiness a little less noticeable in the mornings). LOVE clinique all about eyes however I have been on a budget the last few months and bought an Olay eye gel, this isn't too bad and is cheap (about $16.95 I think).
hey GG where do u usually buy it? (i hear its at david jones and myer) how much is it usually?
As a user of Lycon products in the past, I was really intrigued to try this at-home tanning mousse. Lycon is a salon-quality brand so I was really excited to give this a go.
