I recently purchased a set of magnetic eyelashes. I'm having trouble getting them to get together close to my lashes. I purchased the tool that is supposed to make it easier, but still no luck. Help! My son's engagement party is next weekend!
I saw these advertised online and did a lot of research as I thought they looked great but couldn't find one good review on them.
Every one seems to be saying they just did sit right and didn't cover the full lash line so it looked 'gappy'
To be honest I wouldn't just bite the bullet and get some falsies and some high quality lash glue (maybe get some cheapies to start with for practice up until the engagement)
Thanks Katie. Lucky I bought mine on eBay so they were cheapish. Such a great idea... took your advice :) Thanks! (sorry for the late reply)
Thanks for sharing this info .
I had my heart set on getting some of these but after watching people try to use them on You Tube I gave up on the idea.
Thanks Sparkle77. I need more time to research! (sorry for the late reply)
Ohhh I need these ASAP! But again after reading this I am quite skeptical..... advice please
I've tried and my friends tried for me, with no luck. Let me know if you have any luck! (sorry for the late reply)
you still have time for a salon lash extensions, they would last even with the tears
It was all about having the time. Plus have seen some shabby lash extensions. Anyway, thenormal falsies did the trick :) (sorry for the late reply)
I was given some. I found the magnetic lashes good for a laugh and not much else. I had a lot of trouble applying them even with an applicator I’d bought previously.
If you have spare time, get lash extensions.
Or if you don’t, just wear fake lashes on the day. You can buy a pack for 10-15. I’m sure if you bought some more expensive ones from Myer or David Jones they may even apply them for you if you ring and ask before hand.
Good luck and congratulations!!
Thanks Emma Ocean,
Yes, Napoleon Perdis did that for me :) Thanks so much for your advice. Much appreciated. (sorry for the late reply)
Mecca will apply the false lashes for you, just make an appointment, you just need to buy their lashes, if you want to buy something else could be a good opportunity if you wanted to get a full makeup application (I think it's about $80 redeemable on products)
I will try Mecca next time (though I am not close to one...am in the northern burbs). Thanks (sorry for the late reply)
Have you tried a YouTube tutorial???
I did and they made it look relatively easy... but it isn't. I'm not that much of a klutz. Lol. Thanks for your reply. (sorry for my late reply)
I've read so many reviews saying the same thing, they just don't sit right. Disappointing because the ide is great in theory
It's a brilliant idea! But like most things that appear on my FB feed, they're too good to be true. SIGH. (sorry for the late reply)
i thought they were a great idea ....until i saw chloe morello's youtube video on them and they looked horrible! and were so expensive as well. unfortunately i think it's just a very badly made product sorry to say :( maybe try individual lashes?
That's exactly what I did! Individual lashes from Napoleon Perdis. I was happy with them.
The magnetic lashes I bought were through eBay and were cheap. They looked great because not over the top in length (I wear glasses) but impossible to get to stay in place. (BTW I am a scientist so understand how magnets work etc) (sorry for the late reply)
Omg magnetic eyelashes look scary to me! I feel so sensitive to things that involve so close to my eyes. I have also attempted to apply fake eyelashes underneath my natural lashes and it was so hard for me!! I give credit to the girls who apply their fake lashes underneath and not on top.
I guess it takes practice. I've work false lashes many times over the (many) years, even some great rainbow ones in my late teens. Never wore them under my lashes, though. (OUCHY!) (sorry for the late reply)
I've been thinking about getting some of these for ages. Really glad I never got around to it now. When I first saw them the only reviews I could find were by people who were getting paid so I did wonder if they were telling a few fibs.
Ok really late comment (sorry Serenas).
I purchased a cheap set off of eBay. I didn’t want to fork out over $100 for the real deal when I wasn’t sure it would work. I think they were called one two lash. So the set I got did not go the entire length of my eye. But the effect was wow!
They are hard to put on. I suppose with a bit more practice it would have gotten easier. But the magnets whilst really small were still visible.
What this did for me was show me how much better my eyelashes look with falsies. So I bought my first set and I gotta say I prefer them. They are still re usable up to a certain amount and you can trim them. They can go the entire length of your eye and I actually think they are easier to apply than the magnet variety.
Late comment but just thought I'd share my experience with magnetic eyelashes cos I bought a few pairs off Aliexpress to try out - I bought both accent and full lash ones and I could not for the life of me get any of them to sit right. Also if you've got next to no lashes like me, wacking on a double layer of lashes is just way too much. I watched a ton of videos, but they just didn't work and the bands don't bend to follow the lash line so they poke out and are obvious if someone comes near you. I ended up taking off the magnets and using them as normal falsies and they looked way better. Also I lost way too many of my own lashes trying to get them on and off! So not was easy as it looks :(
I've heard from a lot of people that these lashes don't work they say it's best to buy the cheaper lashes
Just looking at the pretty packaging makes me smile. The glass bottle , the peachy colored oil and the gold flakes dancing around in the oil looks so luxurious.
