hi just wondering.. do you no of any websites that hav free samples other than mysavings.com??
Here's the thing with David Jones (I used to work there). Unfortunately it's all about how you dress, your hair and makeup, the bag you're carrying etc. I could walk in dressed in jeans and my hair in a bun and struggle to even find a consultant but dressed up? All of a sudden there are a whole lot of freebies sigh. You can ask at Mecca, not sure about Sephora. Mecca actually sent me samples of Nars Sheer Glow in four different shades because I was having trouble shade matching online and threw in a few other ones to try. They are the best imo
I will keep that in mind about David Jones. However, about Mecca, they do give samples of foundation if you're purchasing something in the store and do not give perfume samples. I would like to join a perfume box subscription I'm so interested in perfumes but I don't like to order perfumes that I did not try before.
I like bellabox, their boxes are usually very hit or miss sometimes but they have been getting better in the last 6 or so months. For $20 I know I’ll get at least that value back from it so I’m happy for a surprise.
Some of them still do.Check Libra website , U by Kotex , I think they do it all the time, one sample per household per year but they send 4-5 samples in one envelope , good to try new products, there were few others but I can not remember.
The pad and tampon samples are pretty good, however I use U by Kotex products regularly, so unless they have a new product I’m not sure about I leave the samples for people who really need them.
I collect as many samples as I can and make up little packs which I donate to St Vincent de Paul who pass them onto homeless women and also refuges for women escaping domestic violence.
I can't imagine arriving in a desperate state with absolutely nothing at all. I try to pop items in a cosmetic bag or even sealable sandwich bags, Ikea have the best ones. I also grab as many mini toothpaste samples from my dentist and pop them in as well.
That's a lovely idea.
I donate clothes regularly but didn't really think of bathroom and beauty products/samples.
Will keep this in mind for when I get too many samples with online orders and stuff.
My mother has been in this situation years ago herself ,having to flee with nothing, and little luxuries help a lot in such hard times.
I love that idea lady Lola! That’s brilliant! How do you get them to st Vincent de Paul, do you just take it to the collection bins? Or the stores? Or is there some other drop off place?
Share the Dignity does a "It's in the Bag" campaign where they collect handbags filled with items for women. I've seen posts about it somewhere in the forum here. Bunnings were a collection point last year.
Love this idea, thanks for sharing. I would love to do some when it comes back again for this year. Will start saving up samples and things now to put in bags.
I do this every year and it is humbling and heartbreaking, but at the same time rewarding to see the real difference these donations make to the women who receive the bags. I highly recommend following Share the Dignity on social media to see some of the benefits and hear some of the stories from the women they help.
There are four threads about Share the Dignity on BH, but this is the one that has the most recent comments just in case anyone is interested:
How sweet is that, I'm giving you a virtual hug (). That's so kind of you, I hope that St Vinnie's employees don't take advantage and take them for themselves. I heard they take the best of everything and leave the rubbish.
From what I've heard, you're absolutely correct. My dad decided to volunteer for St Vinnie's and he was in charge of sorting out everything that came in. The other staff would come in and take anything good (some of the ladies were selling stuff on eBay >:( so awful)
That's why if I can't physically give them myself and know they are going to a good cause I don't do it anymore. I know it's harsh but I've heard too many times how people keep what they want for themselves and the people that need them don't see it. Makes me so mad!
Ouch! that's really sad :(
Is it same with other places as well ? Salvation army etc?
It is sad that some volunteers for charities take the best items for themselves. However, I know someone that works for a charity and she doesn't take anything for herself.
That is such a great and thoughtful thing to do! Good karma to you, girl!
I drop them in to the store and let the staff know what the goods are for and they ensure the essentials go where they are needed.
Theres also a fabulous charity https://www.sharethedignity.com.au/christmas-charity/
where you pop items into an old handbag or a new one from Kmart etc and drop it off at Bunnings. I always save those lipsticks that I get in colors I cant wear for this charity and moisturizers etc.
Ahh fantastic idea- thanks for sharing.
I've been getting a lot of samples with my Coles delivery, anyone else getting this?
I order quite regularly and have only had samples 3 times in about 2 years!
Maybe it has to be over a certain amount. My orders are usually $150. Have had Neutrogena samples,Oreos ,mini cookies and a couple of other things. Love it when I get them!
A couple of weeks ago I received about 7 different things! I was like ??? but it's cool
I bought a Lancôme miniature perfume gift set and a 4mL bottle of La Vie Est Belle Eau de Parfum was in the set.
Having thick lips that can be dry, I have struggled with matte lipsticks in particular liquid formulas. I have been lucky to found a few brands that offer comfortable and long wear.
Someone you ask for lip balms would be me. My lips have tried and tested almost all kinds of lip balms on the planet. On top of having naturally plump lips, they can be dry and chapped.
