Latest review on Australian Pink Clay Exfoliating Treatment is up on my blog.
thankyou, cant wait to go and have a read
Thank you! Would love to know your feedback ShopA!
I enjoyed reading your review skincare junkie I do remember Aapri and found that very abrasive, I think it was very well known for that, even when they brought out the so called "sensitive" skin version. I think this scrub or something very similar is in the RR here on BH, it sounded nice, but I will pass on it, exfoliation doesn't need to be that aggressive to be effective
Thank you ShopA :)) Ah yes Aapri reminds me of St Ives too! There was a lawsuit against St Ives scrub (unilever) where the plaintiffs alleged micro-tear in the skin using St Ives and that it's not suitable to be sold as a face scrub. The claim wasn't successful due to evidential issues I think but I totally see where that was coming from.
I completely agree that a scrub doesn't need to be aggressive to be effective! My fav used to be Dermaglogica Skin Prep Scrub (now discontinued) which has smaller and denser particles but the particles are not half as sharp. Very effective. Also Dermaglogica's thermofoliant is worth checking out for those who don't like abrasive scrub .
I also remember an exfolitator YSL use to have (still does just in different packaging now) and its a thick honey like liquid, and you massage this into your face until it completely liquifies. It is nice and gentle, and effective too, I actually have a sample somewhere, I must use it again and see if i still love it.
That sounds heavenly ShopA! Is this the one: https://www.yslbeauty.com.au/skincare/skincare-by-category/cleansers-toners/top-secrets-natural-action-exfoliator/213YSL.html
I have never used YSL skincare before! Learning something new every day!
Yes that is the one skincare junkie, it really is a lovely product, It use to be called something different, it was before the "top secrets" range was named, but it is the same., very nice, like liquid honey on the skin, that starts out thick and sticky, then completely emulsifies and is like a warm liquid that just spreads so easily on the skin.
adds to wish list waiting for the next YSL GWP!
You enabler ShopA :D
Love to splurge when YSL or Dior has a gift, I so wish Chanel would do a gift!!
I enjoyed reading about it too, and definitely agree that it sounds great in theory but they just did'nt manage to pull it off.
Aapri brings back some memories - ground-up apricot seeds to exfoliate your face, something I would never use now.
Thanks for reading Lisa!
I've gone through at least a few tubes of St Ives scrub in my teens too - I agree, would never use now. I actually received the St Ives coffee scrub a while ago in a DB - I applied thinking it was a body scrub (it was listed in the body scrub section as well). It's actually meant for the face. I used it as a foot scrub, works like a treat!
I tried the Pink Clay Exfoliating Treatment (I reviewed the product for Bh but the brand is no longer listed). I think that there is too much hype about some clay-based products. What some people may not know is that you can buy 100% powdered clay in different colours and make your own masks for a fraction of the price. Having said that, there have been two masks that I've tried that gave me slightly better results, and it's probably because their percentage of AHAs was stronger.
Wow Petal, now that's an idea! I just searched ebay and you are right, 50g pink clay for $7. That would make heaps of masks. I didn't know Pink Clay is this cheap. On the S&S website it featurs Pink Clay like it's gold.
skincare junkie, you can buy clay from many online stores, but I buy it from Nourished Life because I buy other products from the store, so it's easy for me to include a jar of it in my order. In this way, I don't have to pay for extra postage by buying the clay from another store:
I like to support Nourished Life because she provides excellent customer service, she researches ingredients and tests products before sells them, and she has a customer loyalty scheme.
Thanks Petal! I have never shopped with Nourishedlife before - it has a great range of brands but I try to buy products directly from the supplier if available so the profit flows directly to the brands that I want to support.
Just as a side note, and I think not many people know, Nourished Life is actually owned by BWX (an ASX listed company) which also owns Sukin and Andalou. I used to think Nourished Life is a small local business but it's part of a big corporation.
skincare junkie, I sometimes order directly from a brand's website, but usually if there are enough products to warrant the postage costs.
That's a fair point!! I should bear that in mind - that there's the Nourished Life option. I often just purchase something I don't need to get free shipping... -_-
Reviewing some new blinggg!

Review on Clear Skincare Clinic

Very interesting point you make- if I can quote "going for a facial treatment is an experience, like a treat for me to look forward to.".
I feel like alot of these clinics are now set up like this. Not for relaxing deep facials but very drive by semi professional treatments like this and needling etc.
I find it hard to find places that just do a basic decent facial that isn't too expensive... Hmmm food for thought
I generally like the Advanced Night Repair skincare collection, and although this eye gel cream is very pricey, it really smooths and hydrates my eye area.
I was excited to try out this multi-purpose trimmer and styler because my facial hair and eyebrows desperately needed a good trim.
This is one of my favourite lip glosses, not only is it moistursing and hydrating, it gives me beautiful pigmented colour and shine without stickiness.
