Hi everyone .
Anyone can tell me which is best way to remove upper lip hair .it's makes me feels bad . Need help and tips .
Thank you .
I used various creams for years: veet, nair, they all smell revolting but they do the job. Hair grows back just as thick. I tried waxing once. If you wax regularly it weakens the hairs so they grow back lighter & finer. I pluck now. It makes my eyes water, but I'm OK with that.
If you use hair removal cream like veet or nair, I used to get tiny pimples the day or so after removing the hair. I think that was new hair starting to become ingrown. I discovered that a good exfoliation the day after using the hair remover kept these little pimples in check. Don't do it too soon after using hair removal cream, because it will make your skin red & sore. If you get red & sore anyway, a cold face washer helps.
Thanks for your tips. It's really helpful.
I second using facial hair removal cream, it's gentle and it is easy enough to chuck on before you shower and wash off in there.
I personally get my blonde moustache (as I call it) threaded every 6-8 weeks as I've found it works best for me. I used to wax but found it painful. I make sure I exfoliate the area at least 2 days prior & then 2 days after so that I don't end up with little pimples post-treatment. I don't know how effective threading would be if you have darker upper lip hair though.
Thanks for your help its really helpful..
Threaded!! That's a great idea.
A friend of mine is Italian with dark hair and says she goes to her regular beauty salon to tint it . Don't wax off as it will grow darker and coarser . Hope it works for you .
Oh really mine also dark hair .trying to do tint .and see how it's goes .thank you very much for your tips.
I have only ever found waxing (on my legs) to make the hair finer & fewer in between.
I have waxed my top lip for years and find that the hair grows back much finer!
I get mine waxed when I get my eyebrows done. Waxing over time weakens the follicles and may help stop growth (after many years). It also lasts longer as its being pulled from the roots. I used to bleach when I was a teen but I just ended up with a noticeable blonde mo'. Very distressing to a teenage girl hehe.
Me too I use to do bleach before .
I use an epilator, but most people hate the idea!
I used to get it removed by threading, but the lady I used to go to moved jobs and now it's really hard to get to her. So now, I resort to epilating too!
Hey AJ: that's pretty harsh! I've epilated just my top lip a few times but it's not my regular method. You're hard core!
I wax mine. Be careful tinting it as if you don't go the right colour you could make it more noticeable. Speak to the beautician and see what she recommends as far as tinting goes though, it might be a great option for you.
I would never have thought of threading but I think that is a brilliant idea!!
Not sure what state you are in but I know some Tafe beauty training salons have electrolysis at a much cheaper rate due to the girls/guys training.
If that is something that you would be interesting in trying and you have a Tafe close by allow many hours as they are learning and tend to take a longer. It's a time consuming treatment as it is so you would probably need a day where you were free.
Thanks for your tips.
I used to bleach my mo & then I started plucking out any dark hairs as they grew back after bleaching. Now I only ever pluck as required.
I once tried waxing & had a bad reaction to the wax with an unsightly lumpy rash - never again!
So you're a hairy-nosed wombat? :-P
Yes, my photo is the before shot.
I used to thread every 3-4 weeks, which was just SO painful.
I've now had 2 laser treatments, and the results so far are amazing. Takes about 5 seconds to complete, and not painful at all (yet)! You do have to shave between appointments which is the strangest feeling, but I only needed to shave twice in between, and it only becomes fewer and farther between the more treatments you do.
I epilate the hairs above my lips. Slightly painful given that the skin there is quite sensitive.
I've reported the previous post by beautifulq.
This gradual smells amazing and leaves my skin feeling silly smooth and hydrated. It absorbs into the skin really well and gives me a really natural looking tan.
I received this as part of the Oct discovery bag (thanks BH!) and was keen to try out this Australian cruelty-free brand.
I received this product as part of a trial team. This is my first trial so its ironic that it would be food.
