So Rihanna's makeup launch was super hyped especially the foundation shade range, and I'm interested in trying some of her makeup products. Has anyone tried anything from Fenty? Did you like or dislike whatever you tried?
I've got both the Killawatt Freestyle highlighter and the Gloss Bomb universal gloss. They're both amazing. The highlight is super pigmented and suits so many skin tones. Same goes with the gloss; not sticky and the absolutely perfect shade for just about everybody. Definitely recommend!
What shades do you have for the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter? I've heard that some shades are more pigmented than others, I might get the Bomb Baby Mini Lip and Face Set.
I've tried the Gloss Bomb. Beautiful rose-gold almost peachy shade that goes with any makeup look and makes my lips look super plump, moisturised and glossy. It's slightly thick/plush (not sticky) which helps it stay on for longer than most glosses I own which I love. The packaging is to die for and I just love holding it. Only con is I wish it didn't have an artificial fruity-perfumy fragrance/taste but it's bearable.
I definitely think Fenty Beauty is a really good/unique makeup brand.
The packaging of Gloss Bomb is gorgeous but I didn't pick it up because I assumed it would be sticky like all the other glosses I've tried but hmm... I might have to rethink that, thanks makeupcat
I had no idea! Where is the best place to get her products from?
Sephora! I think that's the only official retailer in Australia
Never heard of them. Off to Google.
I’ve got the foundation on shade 100 if anyone is pale and wants to swap for something? (I’ve used it twice, can post a photo later)
I was going to list it in the swap thread but haven’t got around to it.
I’ve found it’s just too matte for my skin (dry and dehydrated) and it tends to enhance my dry patches. I know some people with more oily skin who love it.
I have the highlight in the shade Hu$tla Baby and it is absolutely stunning!
I've tested out her foundation, I absolutely loved it. But it was sold out in every store I went to (I was overseas) I'd definitely purchase it later once I need another foundation.
The high lighters were amazing too, so much pigment
Don't know them.
The foundation can be great for those oily skin, but it can also oxidise quite a bit.
I've heard the foundation is like wet paint, that when it dries its a shade darker rather then oxidisation occurring.
I have tried the foundation and the highlighter.
The highlighter is absolutely stunning !! I have the lightest one, Lightning Dust/Fire Crystal I believe, and it looks incredible on my pale skin.
As for the foundation, I've only used it a few times, can't say it's one of my favourites. I guess it depends on personal preference, but I just thought it didn't sit on my skin too well and appeared to cling onto any dry areas I had (and I am predominantly oily/combo, which is the weird thing).
I've got the Match Stix Matte Skinstick in Linen. I use it for contouring as well as concealing. I quite like it really! It comes in a stick for easy application and stays matte for a good few hours.
I've heard amazing things about the lipgloss but I haven't bought any to try.
I recently purchased three matchstix: Linen, Walnut and Trippin. I LOVE linen - its a great, easy concealer that is undetectable and blends so easily. Walnut is also the perfect brown for an everyday contour! Trippin is pretty but I havent used it enough to tell yet. I would love to try the Fenty Primer too !
I've been wondering a lot too about this brand - hard to know how much to trust about what my fav beauty You Tubers say... thanks all for your insights!
I have the foundation and I hate it. I've tried applying it with different primers, with a brush or sponge and it always looks terrible. I really regret purchasing it.
I tested out the foundation and the primer today on my oily t-zone and overall dehydrated skin. So the Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer claims that it smooths away the look of pores, visibly evens skin tone and texture, and instantly absorbs shine without feeling dry or chalky. The composition of the primer is a thick silicone moisturiser consistency which helps smooth over any dry spots I have, the subtle pink tint to the primer does even out and brighten my skin a bit however it doesn't smooth away the look of my pores.
The Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation is a runny consistency, and I find one pump more than enough to give a medium coverage all over my face and neck. Also, I used the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to apply. Other reviews have said that the foundation tended to cling to their dry spots, I, however, didn't have this issue but I would attribute that to the primer as the foundation is a matte finish. Without using any powder at the time of application nor did I touch up, the foundation lasted a good few hours before my oily t-zone went past dewy and into an oil slick.
Regarding shade, 240 warm - medium which has a yellow undertone was an excellent match for me, and I prefer it over the MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC25 as I find that it tends to oxidise quite orange on me which doesn't occur with Fenty.
The foundation is great!
I haven't really tried too much from Fenty but I have their foundation and the matte match stix. I did enjoy the foundation and I found that it lasted quite well and even though its quite a matte foundation, using a seeting spray gave it a softer finish. It is actually the first foundation I have found that I could confidently say is an exact match to my skin tone. As for the match stix, I am not as big of a fan. My aim was to sort of use them as a foundation and concealer in one where I would put more under my eyes and less on the face. As a concealer the coverage is too light, and the sticks are very firm, so if you have problem skin and wanted to use this to cover it up, it probabbly wouldnt work that well. I have not used them as a contour however I have a feeling they may work better as contours.
I not yet tried it but their design is really so great. Everybody is been talking about it and I really want to buy it just it's a bit costly to me.
Fenty Killawatt highlighter in Lightning Dusk has quickly become my newest holy grail highlight!!!! It doesn't accentuate fine lines and wrinkles like so many powder highlighters do and the colour is flattering on so many skin tones! I use the other side (Fire Crystal) for nights out because it's a lot more intense. These highlighters are definitely worth the price point! I've also heard the BEST things about the gloss but haven't tried it yet myself.
I bought the Moroccan Spice eye shadow palette. There’s some really nice colours there and packaging is beautiful to! I will take a photo a bit later and show you all!
I also bought two of the lip paints. Unlocked which is a hot pink colour and Uncuffed which is more of a nude natural colour. I tried the Uncuffed on Saturday night. It was smooth and creamy on my lips, which I love and it lasted most of the night even after a few glasses of moscato.
The fenty hydrating foundation is my favourite in shade 190, I use it with the hydrating primer and the pro Filt'r powder is the shade butter with the sun stalkr bronze in shady biz, killawatt highlighter in hu$tla baby. Mattemoiselle lip stick in spanked and the gloss bomb lip luminizer in fenty glow. I have got to say that fenty is now one of my absolute favourite brands. The formulations are all great long lasting and the colours are so luxxe. I was really apprehensive at first because I normally buy the YSL stuff but I'm a convert.
