What are your thoughts on ALDI's makeup and skincare brnd-Lacura beauty? My personal opinion is that it is hit and miss-the powders made my skin red but the lipsticks are amazing.
Feel free to share your experiences!
I agree hit & miss! I've used a few of their creams/rosehip oil etc and they haven't been too bad. Also the eyeliner was good. But I got the mineral lipstick and the "gold" just rubbed off the packaging and started looking yuck.
Is it a liquid eyeliner or pencil? If liquid, is it a pen or a pot with brush? TIA xo
I haven't tried everything in the Lacura range when it comes to skincare & make-up product's but I did try a couple of year's a go there face cream (red jar with avocado in it) it was ok. I've also tried their retinol cream in the serum a few year's later absolutely love that product but couldn't the rest out of the bottle which was a waste not only that the actually serum bottle itself kept jamming on me but if that company had different packaging I would certainly buy that again, not long a go I tried another retinol cream (Reface) I got that from Priceline had no problems with the packaging with that but didn't like it that much as I liked the Aldi one. It all depends on what you like really.
I've been too afraid to try any of these so far as I find sometimes the ingredients used clog up my pores and it ends up being breakout city.
Has anyone had any issues with it affecting their skin or has it all been okay?
I'd be cautious with the skincare... the tea tree oil foaming cleanser made my skin burn (although it does stop doing that after a while) Steer clear of the powders too...My skin went immediately blotchy and red after using.
The liquid foundations I had no problem with! The mascara is really good and the lippies are AMAZING for the price!
Ive used Aldi products, i dont mind them but i always find myself re-purchasing Tom Ford items
Never would have thought I'd see Aldi + Tom Ford in the same sentence, LOL!
I’ve always walked past the aisle but never bought makeup or skincare from Aldi, keen to know what’s good
However some of the products are really good! The two sided liquid lipstick is great and less than half the price of its counterpart, Maybelline superstay lipstick. The mascara is good and super afforable as well. I also tried the 24 liquid foundation. It is good for the price (but its better if you mix it with moisturiser) but there are only 3 shades. :(
I've always been a little wary of brands that aren't well known. I'm interested to know if they are any good.
I haven't tried any of the Lacura make up products but I do have several of the skin care products. They are well priced and work wonderfully, sometimes even better than name brands. Over the years I've used night moisturisers, serums and oils from their various ranges (both standard year round and the special releases) and am yet to find one I haven't liked (though I do check ingredients first!). From what I have seen the brand seems to be gaining a fair bit of traction both in Australia and overseas and I'm hoping that here in Australia we get the larger range of products that other countries are starting to see. I have noticed that the special release ranges (eg. Caviar range) can sometimes sell out within hours on release days at all of my (4-6) local stores.
Agreed very hit and miss! I've looked up some of the ingredients in some of the items though, and it is a bit concerning... I'm super duper fussy about that though, may not be an issue for others
I've use the following products and this is what I think...
Lacura Foundation SPF15 (in the tube) - A great product! Probably one of the best foundations I've tried! I generally use a moisturiser before I use this.
Lacura Eyeliner Pencil - Okay if you like a liner that goes on light. I like my eyeliner a bit thicker & darker, I generally use Rimmel Exaggerate (but this isn't always available where I live). Still the Aldi product is better than most other brands.
Lacura Photo-fit Mascara with Argan Oil - Pretty good. Gives a natural look. Doesn't cake up. Good for work.
Lipsticks - I've purchased a few. Their standard everyday range with the liquid long lasting lipstick are my favorite! Perfect for work. There is a gloss on the other end which I don't like. Just use a normal gloss instead.
Lacura Renew Q10 Night cream (in the red jar) - A great everyday night cream. I really love this product & the price.
Lacura Revive Night Elixir - Again a really good product. I swap out the Q10 Night Cream with this one on the weekends.
Lacura Renew Expert Double Eye Effect Eye Gel - I have really sensitive skin around my eyes, so I never used an eye cream before this. It is absolutely perfect! I feel it has actually minimised the lines around my eyes!
Lacura Caring Cleansing Gel for sensitive skin (in the pink tube) - Smells nice. But it started burning my eyes!!! I found I could hardly see the 1st time I used this! Had to chuck it out.
Lacura cleansing wipes for sensitive skin (pink pack) - Nice product. Happy with this.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these Lacura products, EveningRose, and welcome to the forum xx
Welcome to the forum, EveningRose. I've used the Lacura Renew Q10 Night Cream, the Revive Night Elixir, the Eye Gel and a couple of lipsticks, plus other Lacura products, and found them all to be quite good.
Thanks EveningRose I did'nt even know they sold make-up, I thought it was only skincare, I'll have to take a closer look next time.
I purchased the Powder as a “give it a try” & it is very good.
I've personally only tried the makeup wipes and I find these to be quite good. That being said, I haven't had the courage to try much else from the range
I love their Hyaluronic Acid Serum but not a big fan of their creams as they are scented.
I’m honestly not the biggest fan, I bought the foundation and found it to not last all day (I have oily skin) and there also wasn’t much of a range of colours.
I’m not a big fan of the lacura range, but with that being said I bought their lip oil a few weeks ago just as an impulse purchase while I was doing the groceries, splurged on by dry lips, and it’s a really nice lip oil. Looks like a gloss but isn’t sticky, and leaves lips super hydrated for hours.
I have used Glam brushes for the last few years because of their quality and affordability but they have just released brushes in Conjunction with Bec & Bridge that are leopard print and they a
I tried the Naturopathica Collagenix Beauty Dust for around a month and I really enjoyed it as far as Collagen supplements go.
I love the packaging of this product. It is leak proof and small enough to carry everywhere without worrying about it being bulky.
