They may let you wear your own stud, however I’m sure they would prefer using what they provide as im guessing it would be surgical/sterling silver which would help with lessening the chance of infection etc!
The hole is usually pretty good in the lobe I think and after 6 weeks it would be absolutely fine to take them out every now and then! I’m not sure about the few hours in those 6 weeks, but then again it is only a few hours!
Good luck :)
I don't know any places that will pierce with your own earrings unless they are in the packet like the studex ones etc as they need to be sterile and I would imagine they may be liable if proper practices are not followed so they wouldn't take the risk.
Is there a reason you want to use your own instead of the sterile ones they use?
Regarding the closing everyone is different, I took mine out quickly and had no issues. With my daughters after having their earrings for months and when I took them out for a few hours I did have to slightly force in as it started to close in the back. Even now if I leave them for a few days they start to close but with my I could leave them out for months with no issues.
The reason I want to wear my own is purely an aesthetic one. I don't want to wear that ball that they give and would rather wear CZ's.
I originally had my ears pierced with the regular stud gun that most places use. Most chemists or salons do this quite cheaply. My mother got my sisters' ears pierced by the doctor, using a needle - I can't remember why. I think Mum had to buy studs from the chemist for the doctor to put into the holes.
I've pierced my ears multiple times using a sterilised safety pin & a sterilised pair of old studs. I've let some of the holes close up. I've never had a problem with them.
As for the earrings they'll use, that depends on where you go. I had the captive bead ring when I had my lady bits pierced (with a needle). Why do you specifically want your 2nd ear piercing with a needle?
No matter which earrings they use, I wouldn't take them out for more than a few minutes. A couple of hours is way too long - they might bleed & hurt like hell. You might even have to force them through the skin at the back of your lobe (personal experience speaking). If you want to wear other earrings, sterilise them first! Either boil for ten minutes or soak for ten minutes in metho, Isocol, or Milton sterilising solution. Don't muck about: take out the new earrings & stick the sterilised studs straight in. After you've got your studs in, I'd advise against removing them again during the 6 weeks. If you do want to change again, go through the whole sterilising procedure every time.
After the 6 weeks, I could take the earrings out for hours at a time, even overnight. After a few months, I was able to take them out for a few days at a time. BUT -
remember that everyone's different. If you have difficult or discomfort when putting an earring back in, you've left it too long. You'll have to experiment to work out how long you can leave them out.
Stud guns usually give a wonky piercing or gives a little inaccuracy in terms of measurements on each ear (my first stud gun piercings are at different places both horizontally and vertically, not much but it was more noticeable when I got my 2nd and 3rd lobe piercings)
Do you mean bringing in your own stud for the piercer? As long as they sterilize it they may be able to put it on, but it depends on the material (Some are more porous than others) and if it has the right gauge for the bar.
It depends on your body regarding how long your holes take to close up, I can leave mine out for a day for example but my sister's close up in 2 - 3 hours.
Go to a reputable piercer at a tattoo place. Not only are they the best person for the job but you would be able to choose from a variety or pretty jewellery.
