I am looking anti-aging face oil for my mother. Please give me recommendation for good brands and products.
Hi trabeauli, I have looked into this before so here are my notes:
An anti-aging oil needs to be rich in antioxidants. Here are some options for single oils (not blends)
Rosehip Oil - Pro vit A, high in linoleic acid, linolenic acid. Repairs sun damage, hyperpigmentation, scars and stretch marks. can also be for oily/combo skin as it's high in linoleic acids
Jojoba Oil - Very mildly comodegenic. Great for all skin types - balancing oil. Sebum-like. Absorbs well.
Argan Oil - Moisturising for skin. Antioxidant rich, very high in Vit E, increases cell turnover, restores lipid barrier. Very high in oleic acid, rich texture.
Marula Oil - Antioxidants. Quite thick but absorbs well.
These are taken from Gothamista's facial oils youtube videoo, in case you want to watch it for yourself:
I am personally more familar with rosehip oil - it is a 'dry' oil that absorbs well and isn't too oily. There are many brands available, Trilogy, A'kin, The Ordinary are all high quality. Make sure it is organic and cold-pressed or carbon extracted.
You could also consider The Ordinary's Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane which is more targeted towards anti-aging - the base is plant-derived squalane which is technically not an oil, but texturally feels like one. I personally find it more effective than rosehip oil.
Hope this helps!
Thank you so much.
I haven't personally tried it but the girls at work are raving over Eco Tan's Glory Oil.
I suggest using NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) which can give a more youthful appearance and can improve energy levels. It's already naturally occurring in the body but it declines as we age. I don't use it externally, I take it in supplement form and have noticed great results so far! I personally use RestoriX by the brand Entity Health which I brought online.
For those who have, like myself, responded to the question, I get the feeling that trabeauli may not be genuinely looking for suggestions as he/she has commented in another thread about the advantages of lavender oil and never came back to this thread. See comment here:
> Lavender oil increases the regeneration of the skin cells and inhibits the growth of the bacteria which causes acne and pimples on your face
I suggest not wasting your time in replying to this thread.
I've flagged the post by RestoriX for Entity Health as spam. The topic started is about anti-ageing oil, but the person's post is about a supplement by Entity Health for energy and vitality.
I reported fitbeauty's post because they've been spamming the forums.
This oil has a very mild and pleasant smell to it. I applied this to a damp face and it absorbed quite well.
This cream has a very mild and pleasant scent.
I got colour matched at priceline for this foundation and i did think it was too dark for me once I tried to wear it at home.
