Do you think anti aging creams really work?
If so what is your favourite?
Retinol, vitamin c & glycolic acid are my faves, they make a huge difference.
Retinol products do work to a certain extent but it does also rely on several other factors e.g. if you smoke, harmful UV rays etc. When you age or gain exposure to harmful rays this breaks down the collagen and elastin in your skin which means that your skin begins to sag.
Really like NIVEA Hyaluron Cellular Filler Day Cream SPF15, 50ml and there Night Cream as well.
Also wear Sunscreen for your Face and body SPF 50 plus.
Yes, some creams do work...
I don't really understand your question... it's such a huge personal journey and should be a process not just one cream, unfortunately, it's never-ending...
Anti-aging...stoping the process of time-related aging? or just a cream that shows instant results?...
Your best and first defence against aging is protecting your skin and IMO its not just sunscreen but a hat and staying away from the harsh elements...that definitely works...
the second most important thing is to take preventative measures...to not let your skin get dehydrated so lots of water and you do need to feed your skin both from the inside and outside
Next, you need to keep your skin immaculately clean thats half the battle won
A miracle in a bottle should come last on the list of anti-aging but does play a part but what is good for some is not always good for others I have had great success with acids and retinol but definitely not together
Personally I have not seen moisturisers do as much as targeted serums. The Ordinary was a game changer for me, I've use their Vit C, retinoid, Buffet, EUK, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Glycolic acid, Salicylic acid and oils (not all at the same time!)
Ditto. The Ordinary reintol, EUK, Alpha Lipoic Acid and Buffet serum have brought back the glow to my skin and really improved the texture and appearance. Great stuff for a very affordable price.
Ditto again...but even before the ordinary came along things like Retin A and Vit C have worked for me also protection by using full sunscreens and hats for 25 years can not be taken lightly...I was covered in brown spots and using a natural sunscreen for 25 years I have fully reversed the hyperpigmentation...yes it took years but eventually it works...I also think that zinc oxide has been a saviour at least for me.
Dont ever underestimate the power of sunscreen...
We do damage just sitting by a window or in a car or plane...lol I have been known to wear a hat indoors and I always wear sunscreen in dull weather winter or summer rain or shine and reapply.... bugger the makeup...its far better to have good skin and I do considering my age.
"Anti-ageing" is an oxymoron You can't turn back the hands of time and ageing is a pretty inevitable outcome of the deterioration of the human body over the passage of time. You can certainly delay the more obvious signs of ageing, e.g. wrinkles, age spots. If an "anti-ageing" cream doesn't contain a lick of retinol, it has no effect at all.
Total agreement here...you must be my younger long lost twin...
Anti ageing claims certainly get us more mature ladies roped in as we just want to look as young as possible without the visible signs of wrinkles and sagging skin which is just what happens as you do lose your elasticity in the skin. Sadly, we can't cover our faces so we look for whatever has the best claims to help fight the inevitable. There are products out there that help hydrate and nourish our skin, to a degree, exfoliation is good but it also can damage older skin too if we are not careful. I am happy to use anything that will help improve the appearance of my skin, but sadly, I am getting older and it is showing despite whatever I use. I don't think even a face lift would help turn back time.
Juz if you are looking at age prevention and where to start...just protection is the best place even with genetics in the mix we all look better if we take care of our skin with the traditional methods like slip slop slap then you can start by using a cheap retinol like the ordinary 2% granactive retinol...stop using physical exfoliation and go with a light acid and most important look into double cleansing so that you keep your skin super clean and a blank canvas for using mild actives...I have to say I now use Korean skincare I find it well priced and very effective ...I have really noticed a big difference in my skin and best of all it feels wonderful like being in a spa but affordable.
The Koreans are so advanced in skincare so much so that the big cosmetic houses copy the technology even The Ordinary brand Deciam did so you really can't go wrong
Come over to the Korean skincare forum and I am sure we could help get you started on a simple routine

Lavender oil increases the regeneration of the skin cells and inhibits the growth of the bacteria which causes acne and pimples on your face.
The previous one-post wonder by RenaLevi looks dodgy to me. Rena Levi is a skin care brand in Texas.
