Korean makeup & skincare - my experiences and please share yours!
The list below is my personal experience with Korean brand makeup and beauty products. I've been converted for about 3 years when I picked some up overseas while in Asia and hooked ever since!
Please share your experiences and brands - I've only touched on a few! Some general notes I'll start with:
Skincare – oil cleansers, solid oil balms, essences, ampoules, serums, confused? Read this helpful board on Reddit, it explains all the steps for Asian skincare and also some ingredients to look out for https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/2jcss2/asian_skincare_101_a_beginners_guide_faq/
Looking for trusted online sellers? check out this list on Reddit of trusted sellers people are purchasing through. https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/290to0/giant_list_of_websites_ebayers_etc/
also thanks to Preciousia this site also analyzes products and gives you a breakdown of ingredients: http://www.cosdna.com/
Asian Beauty Reddit is another board I stalk on a regular basis, it's pretty helpful https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/
edit to add I just tidied up the first post as I was getting tired scrolling past that long one lol

Great addition to skincare routine
I highly enjoyed being able to add this to my daily skincare routine, one extra step, but worth it!
After the first use, my skin felt hydrated.
Avoid for oily skin great for dry skin
My skin feels well moisturised after a dry day, but can feel a little sticky if it is been too humid or if I am a bit oily that day.

@sShop A Everyday I was given the samples from a buy nothing page on Facebook but some of the samples are JOLSE so where the above poster got their samples from is JOLSE. So I would say you can get it from JOLSE.
thanks perthchick, I have never heard of Jolse
Jolse is primarily a Korean beauty e-commerce website: www.jolse.com. A few of us have purchased from there before and still regularly do. They ship to Australia. They are overly generous with samples even if your purchase order is quite minimal.
They've also recently started selling Japanese skincare but it is quite a limited selection.
Thankyou for explaining that Ethelinde , I have not ordered or tried any Korean or Japanese skincare, so it's all new to me, but I am fascinated by it, so will have a look around, oh and nice for the samples, always a treat
Yes, Jolse is great! They often have discounts and shipping is free. It takes about 2-2.5 weeks to reach me in Sydney.
Another good online store based in South Korea is https://www.roseroseshop.com/ They charge shipping but product prices are lower than Jolse in general, and can work out cheaper if you're getting several products.
Update: oops just realised that Roseroseshop has been mentioned earlier in this topic. Sorry, I'm new to this thread!
No biggy mentioning both again. It's a bit of an effort to read through this whole thread.
I have been using Laneige products and the Water Sleeping Pack has been a staple in my routine for the last 10 years. I also LOVE their BB cushion, I got the limited edition swarovski crystal case. Was insanely happy when they started stocking Laneige in Sephora.
The price that Laneige retails for at Sephora is actually beyond what it is usually sold for elsewhere, particularly online. It is a serious mark up so you might want to do a price comparison.
I know, but sometimes purchasing them online is somewhat unreliable. I only buy them from Sephora when I need it in a hurry...
John Harry posted a link which looks like spam on this thread. I also reported the spam on the "Serial SPAM member on BH" thread.
Heartdrops - an online Korean / Japanese beauty store - Australian Sydney based- is now selling KRAVE beauty and PEACH AND LILLY. I ordered all my krave and the peach stuff from there- delivery was 2 days.
Thought some might be interested as its very difficult to get these brands otherways in Australia.
Cool bananas! I’ve been getting Krave from Roseroseshop. Also great timing as I am in a Paypal dispute with SweetCorea right now and they’ll probably blacklist me after this, assuming I even get my money back!
I shouldnt give all my secrets away - hahaha! Sorry to hear that and good to see you on the forum. They do tend to go out of stock sometimes but if you see this dont worry - they restock quickly!
OMG they sell Glossier????
Wow, the Peach and Lilly prices are so steep. Might wait for your feedback, guinea pig.
I bought some Farmacy stuff from Roseroseshop the other day. Never imagined myself buying that from an online Korean store but they were so much cheaper than Sephora.
PSA!
I’ve featured Style Story, an Aussie based KBeauty retailer, on my blog and insta a few times. They hold KBeauty events in major cities, going over trends, how to use products, introducing brands; I think it’s about $40-50 to attend, but you get a decent goodie bag with stuff to try!
I’ve hopped onto the snail mucin train. It seems gross, but it does wonders for your skin! I’ve been using the Mizon All in One Snail Repair Cream. It’s pretty good! I also used up a whole tube of the iUNIK Centella Gel Cream, which was super soothing. Both these brands are cruelty free too, AFAIK, definitely not vegan, but not harming animals. ^_^
I think I checked these guys out a while ago and the prices were okay but not comparably cheaper to say Yesstyle. I also actually follow them on Instagram too but Instagram is so selective with my feed that I miss so much content.
Mizon All in One Snail Repair Cream is an oldie but a goodie, particularly on this thread. duality and I have talked about it a lot. I initially liked the brown one too but she favours the black version: https://stylestory.com.au/products/shop-by-skin/oily-skin/mizon-black-snail-all-in-one-cream/. I have tried both and it's hard to choose really. They now come in these portable tubes as well and Yesstyle has delayed my delivery otherwise I'd take a pic and show you.
Honestly though, not a cream but Mizon Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule is the shiz: https://stylestory.com.au/products/sale/winter-sale/mizon-snail-repair-intensive-ampoule/
I also noticed Mizon released a tub of snail eye patches recently on Yesstyle but it looks like Style Story has it too (although Yesstyle is cheaper as I am writing this): https://stylestory.com.au/products/shop-by-skin/mature-skin/mizon-snail-repair-gold-intensive-eye-gel-patch/. If I didn't have three tubs of of eye patches to work my way through, I'd be checking it out by now.
Yep I have the snail eye masks.....
Have been doing alot of Korean shopping last month's....
Yes I've had a problem lately. But have finished up all my old stuff... excuses...
Some good choices there. Don't worry, I'm in the same boat.
The midnight blue is a repeat buy. I'm on my fourth bottle of this....I've got some of the new neogen ranges too ..
I have it somewhere in my stash too but have not tried it yet. Your positive feedback has me intrigued!
Love having you back and active on the forums. You're always missed. Xx
Thanks darling. Midnight blue is my HG. I'm not really sure why I love it but it really does do wonders. My skin glows and fine lines disappear. I only use at night but it's my favourite peptide serum. Also the midnight blue cream is my HG. And I don't have many HG.
Midnight Blue Cream is also my HG!
