Korean makeup & skincare - my experiences and please share yours!
The list below is my personal experience with Korean brand makeup and beauty products. I've been converted for about 3 years when I picked some up overseas while in Asia and hooked ever since!
Please share your experiences and brands - I've only touched on a few! Some general notes I'll start with:
Skincare – oil cleansers, solid oil balms, essences, ampoules, serums, confused? Read this helpful board on Reddit, it explains all the steps for Asian skincare and also some ingredients to look out for https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/2jcss2/asian_skincare_101_a_beginners_guide_faq/
Looking for trusted online sellers? check out this list on Reddit of trusted sellers people are purchasing through. https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/290to0/giant_list_of_websites_ebayers_etc/
also thanks to Preciousia this site also analyzes products and gives you a breakdown of ingredients: http://www.cosdna.com/
Asian Beauty Reddit is another board I stalk on a regular basis, it's pretty helpful https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/
edit to add I just tidied up the first post as I was getting tired scrolling past that long one lol

Regular buyer for a long time.
Im stuck buying this product literally. I used it when my children were babies and now there a bit older and understand they no bath, cream, then bed. No cream = no bed for 3 very angry toddlers.
Smooth cream that doesn’t feel too heavy
This moisturiser has a lovely smooth texture and glides onto my skin beautifully. I found it left my skin feeling soft and supple and it also wears well under makeup.
Goodness in a Jar
After more than a week of using Pro X by Olay Anti Aging Wrinkle Smoothing Cream I can really say that the I ❤️ the product;

So you will love the serum. Will never be without my midnight Blue!
I'm still using up the little pot but I'm upgrading to the bigger tube after!
I did that too last time I needed to restock. The tube is better and travels easier too.
Definitely get it out of your stash...
The DHC toner is of course Japanese and I love it. The rice toner stings my skin.
For those that are interested and prefer Australia... You can buy from
Nudieglow.com.au
Liliabeauty.com.au
Heart drops
Nudie glow is expensive.
I think the DHC toner will become a hg for me. It's more in between essence and lotion but it's so good. It's q10... And I'm using my cosrx snail cream
I actually have a lot of K-Beauty to share. It's quite hard uploading photos to BH though from my phone - I always have to go through a resizing process. This is a photo I took of a mini kit of Sulwhasoo goodies a while ago from my Instastories. I had more coming in the Sweetcorea order which I am now in a Paypal dispute about and so they're never arriving. I also have another kit of four different Sulwhasoo creams in mini size about the size of these minis. I'll take a photo when I get a chance.
I have the same problem with my phone and pictures. I always have to resize....sometimes I can't be bothered.
Oh I'm looking at their essence- first treatment essence- I've heard its amazing...
Ethelinde I forgot to mention that when I saw this pic I was crushing on your shoes. Anyway the pic had an effect because I bought this set too.
Thanks GeeJ! Glad to hear you're on the Sulwhasoo wagon - can't wait to hear what you think!
I used a sample of the Sulwhasoo Snowise Brightening Cleansing Foam recently and it was surprisingly light and didn't really foam up much. I thought it would strip me but it was okay. I don't think I'd purchase full size as it doesn't seem to suit my skin type but I can see it would be great for oily/oily+combo types.
This is currently my favourite K-Beauty brand: Sioris. I get asked about this brand a lot. Only rotated the mist and milky cleanser into my routine so far. There is also a hand and body cream not pictured that is absolutely amazing. The texture is so uniquely smooth. I don't have the whole range - I am missing the makeup remover, scrub and sheet mask (but a box of it is on its way to me!)
I have the time is running out mist....
I just noticed that I left the mist out in the picture but no point as I am almost finished with it. Apparently there are two versions of it depending on what season the ingredients are harvested and go into the mists.
Otherwise, going back to basics, the Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum has become a HG for me and I just finished up a bottle. I also really enjoyed using the Innisfree Green Tea Seed Skin, which was one of the most refreshing toners I've ever used in my life and a complete surprise to me how much I loved it. Both are reviewable on BH. Innisfree usually release a jumbo size of the Serum for the holidays so I might wait for that while I work through everything else.
Oh I love the smell of the Green Tea range - will have to actually buy some to use!
Hmmm I'm not sure if I like the Green tea range. I don't like the fragrance.
Although I haven't used it much...must get it out.
If any of you see Polatam Pure Cream sheet masks for purchase online and ship to AU, let me know. Otherwise, I know it is on Yesstyle. I have also stalked eBay...
The Polatam Water Gel sheet masks are easier enough to get and they're already in my stash but the Pure Cream are not as easy to source and I really love them!
Jolse haul just because of this thread. I bought one of their mask packs and a hair mask. Quite impressed with their free shipping and samples. Already have a second order on the way.
Lovely haul GeeJ!!!
Thanks Ethelinde, you're responsible. I am now going through this thread and taking notes lol.
I have learnt so much about Korean beauty over the years from this thread alone.
Is that the Elizavecca ceramide hair treatment that I spy in there GeeJ?
