Thanks so much bebeautiful it is so so helpful. I had high hopes for drink elephant c firma, i found similar results. Can't say it faded anything, but certainly didn't make them worse. It did give me radiance.
I would be very interested in what other C you would try!
Oooh thanks for letting me know about C Firma, that was on my list to try.
Keep me updated on what others you try too!
Sure will! The other Cs I have tried:
Dermalogica Biolumin C - not ascorbic acid, it was very very slow to work but I think it did work eventually. Pigmentation spots seemed slightly fainter at the end of finishing the first bottle. I used it religiously twice a day. It doesn't do much to hydration though so I had to top up with a hydrating serum from time to time. Still searching for something more effective but maybe, like you said, that's the best to get from an off-the-shelf skincare.
Ella Bache Radiance C Ampoule - big disappointment. Way too much alcohol for my skin - it freaked my skin out. I think the C itself might have worked but I had to stop using it after a few days as the dehydration was not worth pursuing.
Thank you for sharing your experience :)
I tried the (expensive!) Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask a few years ago. Tata's mask made my skin feel noticeably smoother and it did not seem to leave behind a subtle film (a pet peeve of mine). The mask has alcohol, but it is at the end of the ingredients list, and it did not dry my skin out. Beautypedia gave the mask a negative review due to the jar packaging and essential oils, but they never praise a product with essential oils. My face tolerates essential oils as long as they aren't the stronger ones such as tea tree, eucalyptus, lemongrass etc.
I stopped checking Beautypedia when I realised they just have set biases against certain aspects, like jar packaging, essential oils as you mentioned. I'm glad I tried Tata Harper and I definitely appreciate luxury items, but there is just no way it is worth the price.
I too stopped looking at Beautypedia. It is very biased - essential oil is not bad for everyone - not an evil ingredient just because some people may react - yet it gives hands up to silicone (which some people can also react). And jar packaging is not ideal but it is not as bad as it says. It is biased because it sells its own products. Never trust anyone with conflict of interest.
Agree...Beautypedia is Very biased. 10% B3 from Ordinary got a bad review, 10%B3 from Inkey got 5 stars, 10%B3 from PC got also excellent review 5 star. All 3 have one main active: B3 in 10%. Rest is soothing base, nothing spectacular or miraculous.
There are so many examples it is not funny where they just do random biased reviews without even using product, or using science to back up claim etc...just a crap site.
Yoh look at your new avatar! Great shot at the Sephora event!
Thank you SJ =D
It was fun, miss beauty events!
I didn’t even realise that was you! Cool pic!
haha...thank you Okatko! Sorry for confusion x
And more empties.
Oooh! How was the Ombra face sunscreen, Omyara?
jupiter, Omyara put me on to the Ombra sunscreen. It is fabulous. I really only gave a try cause it's so cheap but I like it much more than my expensive sunscreens. Mainly because it is super lightweight. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
Thanks GeeJ! I think it is a special buy item from Aldi and it's not always available. According to this reddit post, it's actually similar to Natio daily defence SPF 50 which I am using now and am loving :)
GeeJ, I'm glad that you love it too, such a great bargain.
Jupiter, It is lightweight and easy to apply perfectly for summer here in Australia. You won't feel it on your face.
That sounds awesome, Omyara! And such an bargain too!
Sorry I'm not organised enough to remember to keep the empty bottles for a photo!
Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm
I was in love with the smell from the essential oil blend in this, and was sad when I came to the end of the 120ml tub. A very luxurious hand cream that nourished hands and was a treat for the senses.
Aveeno Daily Moisturising Body Wash
This was from the rewards room in 2019. I enjoyed using this much more than expected. I love the soft scent and how soft it leaves my skin. It actually makes me happy when I use this :)
COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream SPF50 PA++
Sad to have finished this one too, especially since it's not that easy to get things shipped from South Korea since COVID-19 struck. It has the nicest texture, very hydrating and soothing that spreads and yet very light and absorbs quickly with no scent.
COSRX Good Morning low pH Cleanser
This is a very gentle gel cleanser that I've really enjoyed using. My nose area tends to be a little oily first thing in the morning, and this does a great job of cleaning my face well without stripping moisture. It has a slight scent from the tea tree oil which I don't mind. It also works fine as a second cleanser at the end of the day.
Lacura Naturals Anti-Aging Eye Cream
This was an impulse buy at Aldi. It comes in a vacuum pump that allows for easy dispensation of product and to use it until the very last bit. I like the fact that it is fragrance free, is hydrating and has a nice lightweight texture. As I already use eye serums, I don't need a very fancy eye cream on top, just something to moisturise. This did the job just fine.
Lacura Organic Rosehip Oil
Another Aldi impulse buy when this was featured as a special buy. I had previously used The Ordinary's and Sukin's rosehip oil. This one has a bit of a funny scent, and I liked it the least out of the three - it didn't seem to absorb as nicely as The Ordinary's. The same strange scent is in the hand cream in the same range.
Olay Total Effects Gentle SPF15
I used to like this in winter but now find it too thick and sits on the skin for a while. Perhaps my skin is less dry now? Okay for stay-at-home days when I don't need to put make-up over it. Also SPF15 isn't really adequate and I have to top up with another sunscreen before going out. Won't repurchase.
jupiter, I am pleased to see you contributing to this thread! I appreciate the quality of your reviews, so if I see you have reviewed a product that I'm interested in, I will always read your review.
Awww Petal that's so kind of you, thank you for your encouragement. That's very humbling hearing from someone like you who has posted over 1000 reviews! Thank you so much for your amazing contribution to this site over the years! :)
Note to self......remember to keep empty bottles so I can contribute to this thread.
I really enjoy following this thread, but I keep forgetting to keep my empties so I can contribute. Silly me.
Same for me Rose, I am sure I've forgotten some stuff, and also don't have a photo to share but... I shared anyway! :P You can still contribute if you wish to.
How I keep track of my empties is two-fold: I have an old shoe box I keep my empty bottles etc in for photo taking later, then I also keep a log of my monthly empties in my phone where I'll spew forth my feelings about the products, so I remember what I liked & what I didn't like etc. You don't have to do both; I think the reason why I take photos of my empties is a hangover from my blogging days.
I generally like the Advanced Night Repair skincare collection, and although this eye gel cream is very pricey, it really smooths and hydrates my eye area.
I was excited to try out this multi-purpose trimmer and styler because my facial hair and eyebrows desperately needed a good trim.
This is one of my favourite lip glosses, not only is it moistursing and hydrating, it gives me beautiful pigmented colour and shine without stickiness.
