We all know damn well we only posting in this category for points! Hahahahah
Omg lol at least you’re honest but it’s not exactly helpful to other members of the community and clogs up the forums. BH have a policy about points racking for Beautorium maybe it’s worth reading:
the most important bit I’ll copy/paste from the article
You just read my mind, duality.
Chronic, I hope you meant the best, and didn't want to (or mean to) do anything wrong.
Beautyheaven is an extremely exciting site to be a part of, and it's so easy to get caught up in it. The BH team work very hard at creating this amazing atmosphere, however please don't ruin it for yourself and the rest of us.
I would like to suggest you edit the content of your post here so that you are more in the spirit of things, rather than risk being potentially evicted from all of the fun we collectively enjoy (trust me, we have so much fun).
WOW....and actually you are quite wrong Chronic13 Most of the people that post here in the forums are long time members and therefore we dont get points for posting in here and nor do we get points for starting new threads. We post in here because we like to share with others, support other members and just generally share our love of beauty products.
As duality has kindly pointed out to you it might pay to be a little careful if you are only here to gather points as BH and members who are here because of what we can give to each other more then what we can score for free from the site...well...we dont take too kindly to those who only care for racking up points.
I shall make this post and not get points for it....as duality wouldnt have received points for her post either....yet we posted because this is a site we care about and we both want to take part in a genuine way. Perhaps you could have a rethink and join in on a more genuine level. I think you will find we are a great and very caring bunch here.
Well said duality and Meedee. I won't elaborate, nor will I be gaining a point for responding.
Wish I got points lol
Be happy about the points because a lot of other places don't offer for reviews etc.
Oh gosh...seriously......some people. Well said duality & Meedee. :-)
Flagged as a Waste of Time. Seriously?
Be on the lookout for more riveting forums created by Chronic13.
WOW!!! Eep... Some people are here for the right reasons and some aren't... Each to their own...
Yes no points here either for commenting, maybe you might be the only to actually get points for starting a new thread and a being new?
Yes, they cap them both early on, then zero points forever onwards
Ok wow definitely did not know that. Yes i am new and i had no idea. I scrolled through that topic and seen a few others just like this. Maybe i missunderstood the title of the forums. Thank you duality and theuglyduckling for actually taking the time to give me a heads up and some information without being rude towards me. I appreciate it. I bet this is an amazing site im already loving it having such troublesome skin it has opened up a whole new world of information for me! Until i log in to see a heap of rude people commenting which isnt the greatest feeling. Obviously i have offended yous and I understand now, clearly. It was not my intention to piss anyone off so i am sorry if i have im only just learning all of this..
Chronic13 Beautyheaven is a wonderful site and these forums have a wonderful bunch of ladies who I can assure you are not rude but wonderfully supportive of each other and very protective of our internet home. If you go back to your original post you will see that for us in the forums it was the same as having a total stranger walk into our home and announce that they were only there for themselves and what they could get......so of course we reacted. As far as rude is concerned we were all shocked because to us it was you that appeared very rude so we reacted to protect our home. Perhaps we all just need to see that we didnt get off to the best start and move on from here.
Join in here in the forums and you will find the most wonderful group of ladies and we are all scattered across the country and come from different age groups and backgrounds so there is a wealth of experience here and we are always happy to welcome new comers.
Although it was a bumpy start I say Welcome to the forums and im sure you will love it here just as much as the rest of us.
Hang around in here Chronic13 - We do get some newbies that come in and try to upset in here and we are all very loyal to the site.
Gosh, I remember starting years ago and I was too scared to even type anything in here. It did look scarey but after reading and lurking around on the forums......you just have to jump on in and start chatting.
I do have to warn you though, that you will get addicted to the site. :-).
Definitely explore all the threads, enter the competitions, chat with us (we don't bite).
No offence taking here from you. come and chat with us :-) Plus if your not 100% sure what to do in here, pop into the chatting thread and ask there. Always someone on to help you out. :-)
Hi Chronic13 please stick around.
Some like to dive right in to the forums while others are toe-dipping for the longest time before making a comment.
You have dived right in - even creating a new topic - I still have trouble finding where to do that!
There are 100’s if not in excess of a 1’000 topics and many duplicates as well as topics that give no idea as to what they are about - these might rouse our curiosity but they are not helpful.
There is a search bar on the forums which may be helpful before creating a topic. Or peruse via the Latest Comments to see what are the very active and popular topics - some have been going for the 10 years !
And it’s not uncommon for a “sub-topic” to be embedded in a totally different forum topic as we do go off topic (Guilty!) and then can never find this “sub-topic”! At these times we do try to start a New Topic and continue the thread of conversation.
I’m not saying this to be critical - we have all learnt and are still learning. There are rules for the forums as set out by beautyheaven but there is also etiquette or common sense as we try to keep the forums useable, accessible, friendly and topical.
We don’t like spammers (eh Petal?) and I know a typed post can be misconstrued (lost in translation) and I’ve done this but it’s easily responded to in a polite way.
Sorry if we got off on the wrong foot. The forums are all about discussion and tolerance of others opinions.
We are NOT an exclusive elite clique - we are All-Inclusive.
Chronic, if anyone will be able to understand where you are coming from, it's a long-term member. We don't want you to feel excluded, which is why we're sharing this with you. We (I) definitely want you to feel a part of this absolutely amazing community.
I hesitated joining the forums for the longest time and was admittedly a bit of a stalker, watching and reading the e-conversations for ages before I eventually joined in on an existing thread. It was members like Meedee, jatz, misfortune8, IndieAna, Trish, Petal, duality, Kassalee, Kats, PinkHornet, ray_jay, iGilded, anne, Emma... and my 2017 Elfies! the list goes on and on, who have contributed significantly to my personal journey of self-discovery and growth.
The site itself may be about beauty, but the forums are a sorority (and a fraternity for the few) and we support each other in a very unique but special way. Together, we have gone through births, deaths, marriages, separations, divorces, trials, trivialities and other types of tribulations. We share silliness, information, gags, positivity and overcome negativity. At the core, we do it together.
I want you to feel welcome. We simply don't abuse this precious privilege BH has given us.
TUD You have a wonderful way with words and I am certainly glad that I have had a small part to play in your journey as you and your posts have had on mine.
Just like you when I first came across BH I was more a reader and would hang in the forums just reading and laughing along at some of the antics. I real time I am someone who will often sit quietly in a group and just listen to others....its how I learn. I dont know what it was that made me make my first post but I do believe that my first post here was to thank someone for something....its so long ago that i cant remember what.
BH becomes such a big part of our lives and the reason for that is largely because of the wonderful members that take part in these forums.
Oh and you are right....its is a privilege to be able to take part and be included in BH.
Aww thanks TUD - I saw my name up in lights then along with a few other beauties :-)
BH is the best -
Oh, Duck! I'm touched! (In the head, but that's another issue!)
How beautifully said, TUD. THANK YOU!!!! I don't need to add any more to the other comments except to say how our regulars are special and part of our lives. It's wonderful when new members join in and respect the bonds we have.
So beautifully said, TUD xx
Chronic, do jump in and chat with us, we're always happy to welcome members into our wonderful and sometimes crazy family :)
Hi Chronic :-)
At first glance, this might seem like just another beauty website to someone, and unfortunately, we've had quite a number of spammers creating threads in our forum recently, so I can understand that that might create the wrong impression for a new member.
Although there are a mass amount of members (I think around the 150,000 mark) there are only a fairly minute number of very active members on the site here that contribute regularly in the forums and articles, etc.
These active members are of course very close, and consider beautyheaven as their second online home. As TheUglyDuckling said before, we've documented many ups and downs together on this site, every one here is very supportive of each other and it's not just a beauty site.
As you can imagine, no one likes seeing a points racker, so I'm sorry things started out on the wrong foot for you. I just want you to know that it really is the more the merrier here and the other members here on this site are always friendly to genuine members. So please don't be afraid to jump back in on the forums.
beautyheaven is an extremely rewarding site to be a part of, in the literal sense, but also the type of reward you can't swap points for - being involved in a wonderful community. I hope you can feel at home here, Chronic.
Hi Chronic 13
I’m fairly new too. Perhaps read some threads and see how close these ladies are. They all care about each other and I’m a bit disappointed that I’ll never get to meet them. Some posts and reviews are clearly and disappointingly all about collecting points and doing it as quickly as they can. But this site is about helping each other not just helping yourself.. Perhaps take a back seat for awhile and regain your confidence.
Hi Okatko, yes you are fairly new on here but already your name is familiar as you join in the forums with questions and responses.
It’s not about meeting us (that might be a disappointment!) as we do get to know you on here and many members prefer their anonymity.
Unsure where you are from but members have formed friendships with others in their area and keep in contact and sometimes meet up. It’s a leap of faith for many of us and it takes baby steps and as commented on here, others have been stalking or circling the forums before taking the plunge.
And then we have our times when we disappear from here as our life takes us elsewhere or we need a break - but it’s not forever.
So contribute as little or as much as you like - I think we’re a friendly bunch but we are protective of our safe **h(e)aven **on here.
This reply is also for Chronic13 and I feel that other members have eloquently responded to you. I’m pleased you came back on.
Well I know you are a newbie Okatko but I've seen you around in the forums and that's great. It is all such a learning experience in here navigating all the articles, forums and from what I can see, you are doing great :-)
I've never met any of the members here yet I feel like I know them from just chatting in here. You never know Okatko you may just get to meet them some day.
I think we can safely say we've turned this potential frown upside-down!
Chronic babes, welcome to the fam-a-lam!
