Colour Restore Chrome Reviews

I won this in a competition and it's the first toner I've used since lightening my hair and 'embracing my grey'. It's for very light blonde, bleached, highlighted or natural grey and white hair. My hair is bleached very light at the front of my head to a level 10 and I have natural grey hair at my temples. I was pleased to see it does'nt contain ammonia or peroxide and conditions your hair.

It's like a thick conditioner in consistency and is a light purple colour. Instructions say to leave it on your hair for 20 minutes to create metallic tones or as a two minute regular conditioner for chrome hues. It's pretty easy to use and gloves are provided. I applied it to freshly washed hair as per the instructions, towel dried first. I left it on for 20 minutes.

It did'nt take evenly to my hair. It seemed to randomly choose areas of my hair to work on. Even though my base was even. On the hair it adhered to I got a beautiful silver tone which was lovely and shiny, but on some hair next to that it did'nt make much difference - it toned but not as well and left that hair with a ashy hue. It lasted about 2 washes but the packaging says it can last up to 8.

I don't think it's worth the price for something that only lasts 2 washes and seems quite 'weak'. Good to try something new but I would'nt repurchase it. Making my own toner with conditioner and purple dye produced better results.
