This styler can do more than just straight hair. Comes with one setting on 185 degrees C. And evens out the temp as the device is on (over the plates). Small enough and lightweight that is great for travelling. Gives me smooth and sleek shiny hair fast without damage. I had previously 210 C that was giving dead straight result, but with this one I get sleek hair without losing natural volume. Can do waves too, but since my hair has very fine texture and is tailbone length plus thick, it just goes straightish fast again. With some wave left if I use lots of product.

I was sent the GHD platinum+ as an upgrade free of charge as my GHD platinum was faulty, but I absolutely love the platinum+, it heats up really quickly, I have fine/thin, bleached blonde hair and it keeps it smooth and silky and I’m able to straighten and curl my hair with ease. One thing I would like to point out is when curling my hair, sometimes the barrel of the straightener can feel a little bit flimsy so this may be a problem for people with thicker/course hair

I recieved one of these in my 2019 Glosscar's prize packs and am thrilled to bits with it. I have previously owned a GHD before so knew how good their straighteners were but that one does not compare to the Platinum+!
The Platinum+ is sleek and lightweight, easy to use and very cleverly designed. It makes a noise when it is switched on and once the straightener has reached it's maximum temperature it beeps again to let you know it is ready. It heats up super quickly; within 20 seconds.
I have waist length, thick wavy hair and with this straightener my whole head of hair is done in less than 20 minutes. I only need to do 2 glides over each section and it is perfectly straight and sleek. With my other GHD straightener it made my hair dead straight but affected the health of my hair in the long run due to no temperature control.
This genius straightener senses the thickness and condition of your hair to automatically adjust temperature accordingly. My perfect setting appears to be around the "medium", not too hot not too cool.
I love how my hair feels after straightening; not flat or dry and straw-like but sleek and lightweight. My hair actually looks healthier after straightening, which is amazing.
I loved the design of the straightening plates; no more dreaded snagging mid straightening, my hair glides straight through!
The effects last 2-3 days until I wash my hair.
It is pricey but worth every single cent. Love this hair straightener and very highly recommend. It is worth the investment.

The ghd platinum+ heats up in 20 seconds and is ready to use. On my coarse, frizzy hair, only one pass is needed to achieve dead straight results. It is quite hot in that I can see steam coming off my hair, but because only one pass is needed, it achieves results quickly without having to go through the same section of hair again. It's also lightweight, so you don't get tired even if you have to do a whole head of hair. I love the wishbone hinge which makes it easy to open and close the plates between styling each section of hair. It's slightly springy which makes it easy and ergonomically comfortable to use. Heat is even distributed and maintained. The result is straight, shiny hair.

This is my third device that I've ever owned for straightening my hair, and it has been impressive. I also own a Babyliss Pro ceramic wide plate straightener, and a travel size Babyliss Pro. The ceramic wide plate straightener is clunky and heavy, whereas with the travel size, it's super light but takes a few passes to really get things straight.

The ghd just works every time with a single pass and is a real time-saver. It is a real pleasure to use.

Previously I had the ghd platinum which I loved and I gave it to my sister to buy the ghd platinum plus which I love even more! My natural hair is frizzy, coarse and very difficult to work with and the ghd platinum works best with my kind of hair compared to the ghd original and even the ghd max styler.
When turned on it makes a cool sound and it also makes another sound when its ready to use, this feature adds to the feeling of luxury this straightener gives. It heats up super fast and has a temperature of 185, which is not to hot for the hair and therefore is less damaging. I wouldn't say it does one stroke stying for my hair as it claims, definitely would for people who have more manageable hair though. It glides through my hair effortlessly with no snags transforming my hair.
What I love the most is that it holds the style. I wash and straighten my hair weekly and don't touch the straighter until the next week when repeat my routine. I do this because number 1 , my hair is damaged and the less heat the better and 2, it takes a lot of effort to straight. Yes if I sleep on my hair wrong it can kink but it still is very straight which is so so impressive.

I received the Platinum + professional styler from the very aptly named ghd as part of a recent Glosscars prize and I am definitely a little bit in love. This is a luxe hair tool and one I would definitely hesitate to spend money on without knowing how well it works. Well, let me tell you that it is worth every single cent!

It is black and sleek looking and goes beautifully with my ghd air hair dryer. It has a long cord and comes with a silicone cap so that it can be put away even while still hot. It heats up super quickly - 15-20 seconds at most and it's ready to go. It does not have any controls apart from the power button as its smart technology is supposed to respond to your hear type and control heat accordingly, which is pretty amazing. It has a sleep mode, so there is no need to worry about burning the house down, if you forgot to switch it off as you ran out after getting your hair done.

This works great with thick hair, which is perfect for me and it can take fairly large sections of hair at once, which makes for quicker hair straightening. It leaves my hair looking sleek, shiny and frizz free. So beautiful. I absolutely love the results.
