The time-saving hair tool Zoë Foster Blake is obsessed with

Zoë Foster Blake — genius writer, founder of Go-To Skincare and all-around hilarious person — knows what's up when it comes to the beauty. Having written beauty columns for years, as well as starting not one but two beauty websites, a product recommendation from her is generally pure gold.
And this time, the topic was hair. Zoë recently took to her Instagram Stories to share her new hair goals; a clean and chic 90s bob. Not an easy feat for someone with notoriously curly, bouncy and prone-to-frizz hair. Who also happens to hate 'stylers' (her words, not ours).
Upon telling her hairdresser of her ambition, he (Hermiz Daniel) introduced her to a 'hot brush'. More specifically, the ghd Glide, which retails for $210. The tech-savvy tool is shaped exactly like a regular paddle brush, only the 'bristles' are actually made from ceramic which heat up to 185 degrees. Used on dry hair, it tames, smooths and styles with each stroke. Pretty fricken cool huh?
Needless to say, as a busy mum-of-two, Zoë promptly nabbed herself a Glide for home. Having now used it a few times, she wrote, "If you are in a straight hair phase, or just want to look groomed, neat and smooth, it is a YES."
It's important to note, however, that even though it looks quite similar to a regular brush, it is HOT, so your technique may need to adjust (unless you like a burnt scalp, then go nuts). Zoë recommends smoothing from the underside, brushing with the bristles facing outwards, away from the face.
This doesn't mean brushing topside is a strict no-no, just be careful to keep it concentrated on the lower half of your hair, and at a safe distance from your cheeks. Or, try bh member bebeautiful34's technique: " I just run it through my hair whilst holding onto the ends, to keep the strand taut."
Either way, as soon you nail that flick of the wrist, this tool truly is a gamechanger.
Have you tried a hot brush?

Doesn't sound like this would work for me, with my fine hair.

I don't think this would work on my short hair.

I do have a hot brush, it definitely smooths, but having fine hair, it also makes it so limp

Yes but sure does smooth the hair and kinks out

I already have straight hair but I use a straightener focusing on the mid lengths to ends to straighten them so it’s s bit more sleek and not just boof. I’m not convinced for my own use but wouldn’t mind a trial...!!!
Does this curl too?

I already have a straightening brush. But a bit confusing as the cover picture shows her with waves?!

I know I was thinking whether they used the wrong photo or posted about the wrong product!

I've been thinking about getting one of those tools that dry and straighten at the same time .. you know the ones with a round brush on the end and hot air comes through so you can dry and style your hair ? Has anybody tried one? I've no idea if they are any good.

Hilarious as usual. Bless you Zoe! What you recommend I want as I have similar natural curls and hate hair tools. I don't know much about hot brushes, but will investigate.

I've seen them around but I'm not sure if they would be good for my hair, I tend to stay away from all hot tools but she makes this one look tempting.

I rarely heat style because I'm so unco at it. This hot brush sounds easy to use.

I was interested in these brushes when they first came out, but it would have ended up being another tool that I would rarely use

I have a hot brush at home but hardly ever use it. It doesn't take out all the frizz.

I’ve got a hot brush. Mine is a Dafni. I couldn’t live without it.

Great styling, those waves remind me of the Farrah Fawcett flick and really show off Zoe's lovely face.
