Cornered: Project Runway's Dylan Cooper

We’re not all about beauty here at bh HQ. We’re also into fashion and style trends, so when we find something that tickles our fancy, we become a little obsessed…
So when Project Runway Australia’s major sponsor, Goldwell, gave us access to this year’s winner, Dylan Cooper, we jumped at the opportunity to corner him and ask him a few questions…
You always look so well groomed – what is your morning routine?
I use Goldwell dualsenses for men hair and body shampoo. To wake my skin up in the morning I use a hot washer and then just a general skin care routine, which includes cleansing, toning and moisturising. I always make sure my moisturiser has an SPF and use a great eye cream to help remove any dark circles.
I also apply Goldwell stylesign Roughman to damp hair and then style my hair for an edgier look.
What are your make-up trend predictions for SS 2012?
So far what I'm seeing is quite neutral by way of colour, utilising natural looks that enhance or highlight your strongest features is really big. I'm really loving the use of neutral and tonal colours, especially when they’re being used more boldly on the face – it’s very striking and luminescent! I love smouldering eyes and strong brows too.
What will we start seeing on the streets fashion-wise at the same time?
I think colour – LOTS of colour. I’d definitely expect it to be around for another season as its seems that colour blocking and bold print is very on trend at the moment and people are really enjoying the revival of colour, which hasn't been seen in a long time. I'm loving the deeper shades of colour that are surfacing too!
Which celebrity’s style do you covet?
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Emma Watson and Drew Barrymore – beautiful!
You printed your own fabrics, is that something you will continue to incorporate into your line?
Definitely! I adore prints and it will be something that will continue to appear in my collection, as it’s something that is truly unique and can be tailored to my inspiration!
If you didn’t win, who would you have loved to see win?
It so hard to choose, I love them both and they are equally fabulous! I feel Johnny has a very fresh outlook on fashion and enormous amounts of energy, and Craig has great technical skills to create the garments he designs.
Who was your favourite to win Project Runway Australia?
Who would your fashion muse be and why?

Hi it's Sandra, I didn't have a favourite to win Project Runway Australia. I don't have a fashion muse because I like too many different styles. Styles from Jessica Simpson, she is very sensual and sexy in the way she styles. Stevie Nicks has a gypsy style, Cher has the weird sexy style, Julia Roberts has a casual feminine style and Ellen, well what can I say. I like all of these trends and many more. I take what I like from each, so they are all my muses.

I didnt see project runway unfortunately, however I totally agree with Dylan in regards to colours being really strong this season. It has been ages since real colour has made a come back. My fashion muse would be Drew Barrymore, I love her as an actress and I love her style.

I like the way Victoria Beckhams look but i just cant understand why she never smiles...I think she would look so much nicer if she smiled; as i was thinking with all that she has and how good she looks that she has so much to smile about....shame she doesnt smile more. And the only other icon i would have to say would be Megan Gale and i noticed that Discomilk has said the same...But she is gorgeous she looks great in anything she wears and She is one that does Smile and looks like she enjoys what she does. She is stunning.

I liked Dylan, but overall I thought this years designs and contestants were below par compared to other seasons, and particularly with the US version. Towards the end I'd lost interest.

I think all the last three guys were fabulous! On the final tho my fave collection was actually the one that was red and gold by the other guy that was in the final three. I love Victoria Beckham and Miranda Kerr they have always looked fab in my opinion!!!
