Two great looks for your guy

Sometimes men know what they want in a hairstyle (usually the less steps it involves to get them out the door, the better), but sometimes, well, they need a little bit of guidance from the women in their life.
And because we’d hate for you to be caught off guard when he whines, “I just don’t know what to do with my hair anymoreeeeee” while stamping his feet (okay, no man ever has really done that, but let’s pretend), we’ve got a couple of looks that are not only super-simple to style, but they’re damn sexy too. Everyone wins.
The gentleman
Don’t Ryan Gosling and Jon Hamm look dapper with their fancy side partings and sleek suits? As good as this style looks when dressed up, it looks just as good when dressed down with a pair of jeans and Converse. So why has this style gained such popularity over the last year? According to Rob Mason, finalist of the 2013 Hair Expo’s Men’s Hairdresser of the Year awards and stylist at Victoria’s BIBA Clifton Hill, it’s because this particular cut makes any guy look masculine without them having to put in much effort. For best results when getting it cut, your man should ask his barber to make the parting neat, the sides clean and short, but leave a bit of length on the top. And in terms of styling? This style looks great when it has a slight sheen to it, so if you do use a product with shine (which we think you should!) then Rob advises that his hair will need to be combed into place.
The rock star
For guys who prefer something a bit more disheveled and ‘get-up-and-go’, they’ll be pleased to hear that, in Rob’s words, “the less effort the better”. Jules Tognini, also a finalist in the same category and stylist at Queensland’s AKA Tongnini’s, agrees, adding that, “anything messy is awesome.” Whether your boy’s hair is short or down to his shoulders, the shaggy, relaxed look can easily be achieved with styling products that give hair texture and a matte finish. To get this result, Jules recommends your man allow his hair to naturally take shape (so let it dry as it may) and to scrunch and muss it up a bit haphazardly.
Note: this look instantly turns from ‘the rock star’ into ‘the hipster’ when paired with a beard – be it full-on or just some scruff.
How do the men in your life wear their hair? Do they worry about the style and cut?

my man has shaved head, so it is no fuss for him :) and i like it that way. he used to have kinda wavy short hair, but it was too much work, with him colouring his grey hair pretty much every 2 weeks and get his hair cut as well.

My bf has the gentleman look! Looks absolutely fabulous when he dresses up or down - not fair to be upstaged by your own partner!

My partners hair is really thick and curly so styling it just isnt an option he just shaves it all off.

My boyfriend is probably a bit of a mix between these. He likes to sport a bit of stubble but he can scrub up quite well too.

I like short hair on a guy and the rock star is just too much curls and not in a good way messy too.

My partner likes to have a number two razor cut for his hair. And when it grows and it grows quickly he doesnt like it and he really isnt the type of man who could really be bothered by styling his hair, And in the last four months i have been doing it. And i have found it easier and can now make sure that its all neat and tidy. So he is happy that i can do it for him at home.
