Made in Movember

Next week, us girls have Step Up For SISTERHOOD Week to get behind, but what about the boys? Well, tomorrow marks the halfway point of Movember and if your father/brother/significant other is yet to grow a mo, he may just need a little extra encouragement.
RELATED: Christmas beard baubles for men
A global organisation committed to improving men’s health, the Movember Foundation sparks conversation about and raises funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s mental health problems.
Do you think that sounds like a pretty worthy cause? If so, get the lads in your life to participate and help raise much needed funds. First, they’ll need to sign up via the website, then it’s a matter of growing the mo.
If your man’s going to go there, he might as well do it properly. Here are four steps to a stellar mo:
RELATED: How to stop hair colour from fading
Step 1: Make sure he cleanses the area thoroughly to prevent any ingrown hairs. We recommend FOREO LUNA™ for MEN, a cleansing skincare device that preps the skin for a closer and more comfortable shave.
Step 2: Help him to decide on a type of moustache. If he’s lacking inspiration, check out these five on-trend Movember moustache styles. Personally, I can’t go past The Ladies Man.
Step 3: Getting rid of grey hairs is a huge part of achieving the ultimate Movember look. If your guy has a few peeking through, he may want to use a facial hair dye such as Just For Men Moustache & Beard that targets only the silver hairs, leaving the rest of the mo intact and lookin’ good. Plus, Just for Men are donating $1 from every pack to the charity, so it’s a win-win.
Step 4: Once the mo is sorted, it’s just about maintenance. Davinci Whisker Tweezers are great for getting rid of any pesky ingrowns, while Lady Jayne Combs Stratton & Bulk will keep it looking neat and tidy.
All good things must come to an end, and the same goes for your boy’s moustache come December (unless he’s grown particularly attached to it, in which case you’ll probably need to embrace his new, hairier look).
Now, I’m not exactly in the habit of shaving my face so I’m no expert. Thankfully, bh’s Andy recently tested the Gillette Fusion Mach3 Turbo razor (and loved it). Here’s his verdict:
“I generally only shave once or twice a week max and tend to have thick stubble that quickly blunts cheap razors. I found the Gillette Mach3 Turbo Razor coped well with a couple of weeks’ worth of growth without any problems or having to go over the same area several times. I've only needed to change the blade once over the last couple of months. Standard shaving on days where I only had a couple of days’ growth was quick and easy, which is what I have come to expect from a decent Gillette razor. I haven't managed to nick or cut myself yet which is another good sign, and the stubble rash and irritation is on par with what I normally experience. Overall, if you’re going for a quick, wet, regular shave, I feel the Gillette razor is the obvious choice.”

I'm glad that the organisers of this great cause didn't decide to make it about men growing beards! I have seen some really horrible looking beards on men.

Great cause. I just bought my hubby a shaving cream by Lush (doesn't lather). I wonder if they contribute any proceeds to this cause...

Great cause. My husband would take years, not a month to grow a mo.

Don't have a man, but I used to know someone who grew a mo for Movember one year. I was already used to seeing him with facial hair, so it wasn't that drastic to see him with one. Anything that raises awareness for prostate & testicular cancer + men's mental health issues is one that gets a big tick in my book.

Yes he is - but when he came downstairs the other day with a bit of a mo shape on his top lip, our daughters all disagreed with his choice - but they didn't know what he was doing it for. ; ) He has lots of grey showing through now but I like it on him - he looks more sophisticated this way!

No, it wouldn't look professional at his place of work, but he still supports the cause.

My partner had a mo when i met him. But he got really lazy when it came to keeping it looking good so he shaved it off and looks alot better. But the strange thing was that it took weeks before anyone noticed that he had done it.
