Trend to try: almond nails

Remember how long, talon-style nails became a thing about a year or so ago? Celebs and runway models were seen sporting nails not too dissimilar to these bad boys:
Well, if that style was just a bit too intense for your day-to-day activities, then you’ll probably be pretty pleased to hear that the latest nail trend is a much more rounded. Some might say that it’s more of an almond shape and it’s been spotted on the likes of Rita Ora, Blake Lively, Keri Hilson and Selena Gomez.
The rounded edge combined with that length looks pretty good, huh?
But before you get your nail scissors, file, and buffer out to reshape your nails, just hang on a sec. Because if the almond shape is something you’d like very much on your nails (and more immediately than now), then believe it or not, there’s very little effort in achieving it.
Glam by Manicare Almond Nails will not only give you the glorious length and shape, but you won’t even have to worry about painting your nails, post-shape-change. See, the glue-on nails are available in six very modern nail art designs – all of which play with textures and finishes – giving you the option of sporting every nail finish from shiny and matte, to glitter and sparkle. Basically, designs that would take a lot of time and patience if you had to do them with polish.
Here are the different designs available:
And here’s what the matte and shiny black ones look like on my fingers:
And that took all of 10 minutes to apply (well, technically 10 minutes and 36 seconds – I timed it.)
Just a word for ladies with short nails (like me) – the long nails may feel weird at first and it will take a while to get used to doing everyday things, like typing or texting or undoing your jeans. Long-nailed friends, please share your wisdom and tips for those of us adjusting!
Have you ever tried almond-shaped nails? Which is your favourite design?

I don't mind the shape as long as the nails aren't too long

I've only just started seeing this trend. I won't be growing my nails or buying stick on ones to be part of it. It's not for me. At all. Ever.

I've never used these stick-on nail things before but I do admire the almond shape but would prefer is shorter than the pics shown. I have seen the shorter ones on celebs and might try them for a special occasion. :)

I hate the box look. This rounded shape is very pretty, I file my nails like this, and my mum has always had hers in this shape :)
