I think the designers must have had a quick chinwag before the Haute Couture Paris shows started last week as they seem to have reached a general consensus: the bangle is back en vogue. Wrists are cool once more. Thank goodness.
I mean, on a purely superficial level they look pretty (bangles, not wrists, unless you’re blessed with dainty, ladylike ones, which sadly I am not) and draw attention away from pesky elbows which have the annoying tendency of being dry and flaky come rain or shine (handy tip: Yes To Carrots C a Softer You Hand and Elbow Moisturising Cream really does work).
But I suppose the downside is people vying for a look at said coveted cuffs. Put simply: it’s time to get paws in good shape. And no, I don’t mean trotting off to get a mid-morning mani. In times of financial uncertainty, it’s best to go the DIY route I say.
L’Occitane Shea Hand Cream, with pure shea butter, this skin soothing beaut will have hands soft, smooth and smelling delectable.
And Sally Hansen Double Duty Base & Top Coat is a must. Any self respecting beauty addict can’t go past a bit of double duty beauty.
A slick of ZOYA Professional Lacquer in Sloane (a divine blackened plum with a subtle metallic finish) on short, square nails and you’re practically there.
Just finish with a dab of Endota Spa Everything’s Roses Balm on your inner wrists. It restores personal power and confidence. Holy haberdashery, Batman, that’s impressive.
Now, if someone could stump up the price of the junglesque Louis Vuitton trio (pictured) I’ll be happy.
Are your hands / wrists in good nick?
