beautyheaven’s brow and lash challenge
Want to take your brow and lash game to the next level? Then you’ve come to the right place! Welcome to beautyheaven’s very first makeup challenge, where we reveal how to get better eyebrows and lashes.
Three girls from the beautyheaven team shared their common brow and lash problems - and we’re sharing the solutions. To learn how to create bold, full brows, clump-free lashes and long-lasting, symmetrical brows, watch the video above.
Can’t watch the video? Read the tips below to get started.
Beauty Challenge 1: How to create bold brows and extend your tail
For our first challenge, we helped bh’s Sam to extend her brow tail. Thanks to some serious over-plucking as a teenager, the ends of her brows needed extending. To figure out where your brows should end, use a spoolie with a long handle, angling it from the edge of the nostril to the outer corner of the eye. Make a small mark where the brow needs to end, then start to fill in the brow with small, light strokes. I like the use the Rimmel Brow Shake Filling Powder because the super soft powder makes it easy to precisely fill, shape and define your brow look. Once you’ve finished filling in the brow, use a concealer brush with a small amount of concealer to clean up the area around the brow to ensure a defined shape.
Beauty Challenge 2: How to get clump-free lashes
Next, we helped bh’s Kate to lengthen and define her lashes, without any clumpiness. Always use an eyelash curler before applying mascara, to help your lashes hold the curl for longer. An eyelash curler is a fantastic tool for girls with short, faint lashes. When you’re applying your mascara, wiggle the brush back and forth at the base of your lashes, then swipe it up towards the tips. This ensures that most of the product is at the base of the lashes. Clumpy mascara is a big culprit in making lashes look sparse, short and stumpy, so you want to make sure your formula stays clump-free. Rimmel’s Volume Shake Mascara feature a cool shaker system that refreshes the volumising formula whenever it’s needed - so it never dries out.
Beauty Challenge 3: How to create long-lasting, even brows
Our final challenge was with bh’s Bianca, who wanted her brows to look more even and last all day. First, use a spoolie to brush through your eyebrows and find any areas that are uneven. The Rimmel Brow Shake Filling Powder is great for patchy, thin brows, as it gives the depth of a power, while the applicator gives the definition of a brow pencil. It’s also transfer-proof, so your brows won’t budge. Using the brow that’s in better shape as a guide, fill in any patchy areas with the Brow Shake Filling Powder, using small, short strokes. Continue to fill in the brows until they match. Use a concealer brush with a small amount of concealer to clean up the area around the brow for a clean shape.

You've made eyebrows look so easy! I'm definitely buying this product for my brows. I've been looking for a new product and this looks easy to use. I'm not very skilled in doing my brows. Thank you!

I'm keen to try out Brow Shake but I have to say that there are so many really excellent brow products on the market right now that I feel we are more spoilt for choice than ever before.
I'm sure social media has a lot to do with cosmetic companies being more responsive to what consumers want these days. It's a wonderful time to be a make-up junky!

I've got thyroid disease, which makes the outer third of my eyebrows much sparser than they should be. I use a brow gel (non-Rimmel) & it makes a huge difference.

I loved watching the tutorials, it's amazing how extending the brows really opens the eye area up and balances the face, great job!

Great tutorial, I'm always struggling to figure out just how far my brows should go! It's harder than it sounds when you're staring in the mirror for half an hour.

I love this video, I have uneven brows and really need to buy some of the Rimmel filling powder to fix it. I rarely use mascara as I find it always clumps in my lashes. I think I need to try the three light coat method shown in the video.

The Brow Shake Filling Powder is tempting. However, I need to use up some other brow products before I buy more.

Don't laugh.. but I've only started waxing my eyebrows within the past 2 years. (I tried getting them threaded in the mall and left crying with only one done lol). So I'm a bit behind on the fab eyebrow look. Will definitely give this a go and get these caterpillars under control. Thanks x

Great video Sophie and BH friends! I especially loved the eyelashes tips.
I am thankful I didn't mess with my eyebrows very much in the 90's, so don't have to worry about them now :-)

Wow It looks so easy! I have short eyelashes and my eyebrows seems to have stopped midway above my eyes so it looks like I only have half an eyebrow!
I'm definitely going to give this a try.
Will let you know how I go

I face all 3 of these challenges :P I might have to try that mascara as my current L'Oréal Manga one always dries out every few weeks after opening.
I have small lashes but it made hers look longer :) And my eyebrows, they are wild haha. I also had a teenage plucking problem, so now they grow upwards/spikey, but they never grow out enough to fill in the gaps.
Thanks for the reminder re. using a line to measure where your eyebrows should be. I will try that.
