10 of the best: hero products

My Covergirl TruConcealer deserves the 'hero status' because it's one of the concealer that is creamy but not too rich and easily blended but won't rub off. My skin under the eye tends to look dry and after putting eye cream on I apply the concealer which does not draw attention to the dry area instead it creates a smooth surface with a great natural coverage. The concealer does not dry the area out as I apply it and while I am wearing it- probably has some good moisturising properties. It also acts as a great eye primer, has great staying power (so no need to touch up) and at such a bargain price I'll come intentionally come back for a rescue!

A'Kin Cellular Radiance Serum - it really has super powers!!! My skin went from dull, grey-ish and dry to fresh looking and glowing in just a week. And after two months I can't stop touching it, it's just sooo smoooth :)

URBAN DECAY EYE PRIMER POTION It is amazing! Whenever I use it as a base for my eyeshadow, I get longer lasting shadow, the shadow doesn't smudge off my eyelids, and I find you get a much more intense colour (whilst using less eyeshadow). It definitely deserves hero status!!

Christian Dior Diorshow Iconic Extreme.. long name but by far the best mascara ever! The chunky brush picks up my short, straight lashes and instantly adds oomph! And its waterproof!

I love this YSL concealer. It makes me look more alive, fresh and not tired, sleep-deprived and a zombie! Thank goodness for this product!

It has to be Napoloen Auto pilot primer. Its such a waste to put make-up on if you dont have this underneath. You skin will love you for it and you wont use as much make-up. Plus your make-up stays on longer. Every make-up user should own a bottle.

A Lancome Juicy Tube is a hero for me- just slip one in my pocket whenever I'm going out and I can rely on it to keep my lips looking lush and tasting great whenever I need it!!!

My hero product isn't featured on this list. Sorbolene (all brands and sizes) is the most versatile, affordable and popular product I know of. I've been using it for decades. It can be a moisturiser, cleanser and even (in small amounts) a hair conditioner. It even helps eczema more effectively than medicinal creams. Five stars to a cheap little beauty.

My savior is Kit Cosmetics Multipurpose Wonder Balm. I use this especially in winter but it's good for all year round. For example: Last year, I was getting ready for a date and my lips were so dry. I freaked out - 'what if he wanted to kiss me? I have scaly lips! Now he'll never want to kiss me' - naturally. I slathered this baby on for good luck, hoping the few hours I had before our date would somehow be salvaged. To my delight, my lips felt softer and smoother. No doubt I used a scrub too but this baby works wonders. I keep it in my bag in case of dry elbows or knees. Definitely a hero in my eyes

Well the YSL Touche Eclat product sounds a bit like a hero product to me. I am forever trying to find a product that will brighten the eye area and take a few bags and wrinkles away too. I have yet to find anything that truly lives up to its promises. Here's hoping.....

Elite Eyelash Curler absolutely hands down! An eyelash curler saved my life. This tool was my very first introduction to beauty as a tween and I've never looked back since, over the years I've used different products and tools but an eyelash curler is something I have never ever been without. Even on those days that I am not wearing any makeup I will religiously curl my lashes. As I'm half asian my lashes naturally point down so without a Elite Eyelash Curler I would be lost. This is absolutely the product that without a doubt deserves hero status!!!! Women would be lost without a eyelash curler.

Lucas Paw Paw Ointment - it can used for so many things, it is inexpensive, comes in different size containers and is readily available at different outlets.

Definitely, without a doubt the YSL Touche Eclat - every mature woman should possess one to evoke that magic touch on her eyes! [note I say 'mature woman'...young girls don't need it ... yet! :) ]

Hero status should be given to Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. It is the real pimple solution. Unlike other pimple creams that make a mess. It works quickly without causing you stress.

Definitely Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser. It's so great for my sensitive skin and doesn't sting when it gets in your eyes, an added bonus for super clumsy people like me:)

L'OREAL AGE PERFECT Cleansing Wipes De-crinkles and replensihes (there are different Wipes for all skin types). I don't know how many people after a hard day want to crawl into bed and don't want to have to worry about taking off their make-up and then moisturise their skin. This wipe does all that. I have one beside my bed and I pull a wipe out of the resealable pack and wipe it gently over my face. My face is left completely clean and soft to the touch as it also incorporates Vitamins and hydrating products. After use I throw it away and I am done. I do mix up my routine but it is wonderful to have a product to short cut your routine. I love this product and heartily recommend it.

Clarins Daily Energiser Cream deserves hero status as it totally awakens the skin and makes you feel clean and fresh. It is actually one of the best products I have ever used. It is a massive pick me up for the skin.

Here it comes to save the day... Benefit Erase Paste is on the way! Dark circles and redness all gone in a flash, a tiny pot of R&R that lasts ages for only a little cash!

I'd say the YSL Touche Éclat pen because fior that price, it must be good, but as well, I'd love something that would make my eyes brighter, and more awake, because I think eyes are the first things I notice about a person.

Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-foundation Primer. This is my saviour! I thought what's all the fuss about?? Until I started using it... This product is amazing and continues to amaze me everyday. I never apply foundation before primer. My foundation stays put for at least 12 hours and gives me so much more confidence!

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm - Brightens and tightens! Gives your skin radiance in a flash! Yes please! My make-up looks incredible all day long thanks to this cult beauty product and when I have a reaction to something and my face is red - Beauty Flash has that covered also. For an amazing pick me up nothing is better. Beauty Flash Balm has turned 30 and is still my hero product!

Carmex lip balms saved my lips this winter. After trying everything from paw paw ointments to soft lips (you name it, i've tried it), I can safely say carmex lip balms are absolutely amazing. I has never had a huge problem with cracked lips, but last winter was unbearable for me. I've tried several carmex products and they always seem to impress me.

Dove Beauty Bar because it's so gentle on skin while it cleanses and moisturizes too!

I love Napolean Perdis Auto Pilot face primer, I have always had an oily shine by the end of the day until I started priming before applying makeup. My makeup looks great all day now. I will never look back.
