11 multitasking makeup must-haves

If you’re anything like me, your make-up bag is overflowing with products you hardly ever use.
Obviously, this is a sign we need to streamline. Otherwise, we could literally be buried in beauty (slight exaggeration but you know what I mean).
But how do we reduce the excess without messing with our make-up look?
With multitasking make-up prods, that’s how!
Because why settle for a make-up product that can do just one thing, when you could have a product that has two, three or even four uses all in one?
1. Chi Chi Super BB Cream
What is it? An anti-ageing and moisturising cream that combines make-up and skincare in one.
Use it for: Brightening your complexion, correcting skin pigmentation, protecting against sun damage (it has an SPF factor of 30) and addressing skin ageing (with gotu kola and vitamin E).
Hot tip: Mix a small amount with your foundation for fuller coverage that’s still a bit dewy for night-time.
2. Bobbi Brown Bronze Shimmer Brick
What is it? A shimmering, brush-on powder that creates a candlelight glow.
Use it for: Highlighting, bronzing and even eye shadow-ing in a pinch. This palette is my number one make-up go-to.
Hot tip: Sweep it generously over the top of your cheekbones for a gorgeous summer party look.
3. blinc Eyeliner Pencil in ‘Brown’
What is it? A creamy, long-wearing eyeliner pencil that helps firm and condition your skin.
Use it for: Lining your lids, smudging and mimicking brown eye shadow and even colourings in your brows. Oh, and spoiling your skin with natural antioxidants and tocopheryl acetate (a vitamin known for its anti-ageing benefits).
Hot tip: Smudge the creamy formula for a sexy, smoky finish.
4. Designer Brands Moisturising Lipstick in ‘Perfect Pink’
What is it? A hydrating, creamy lipstick that gives good colour while also conditioning your lips with vitamin E and aloe vera.
Use it for: A pretty pink pout, glossy pink lids (Ashley Benson rocks this look) and rosy cheeks.
Hot tip: To warm your complexion, dab the lippie along the apples of your cheeks using your finger. Tooo easy.
5. Nude by Nature Pressed Mineral Cover
What is it? A mineral make-up must-have that covers redness, enlarged pores and other imperfections while conditioning your skin with nourishing ingredients such as Kadadu plum, avocado oil and vitamins C and E.
Use it for: Creating a luminous base for your make-up that benefits your skin, without worrying about those loose compact spills.
Hot tip: Buffing it in will warm up the minerals for a smooth, even finish.

I like highlighter that is cooler and on a pink side. Not brown ones. Just because they brighten the complexion and can double as a light top of cheek lifting blush if they are gradient like BB.

I actually had the BB bronze shimmer brick but gave that to my teenage granddaughter as she would get better use from it. I do love my BB creams though in the summer time, and they contain spf factor.

BB shimmer bricks and the lipstick shade are my favourite products in the list. However my skin is high maintenance and needs a lot more than a BB cream.

The shimmer brick is great but I found it too shimmery to use as eyeshadow. I need to tone the shimmer down with a matte eyeshadow which means I had to carry two compacts anyway and defeats the multi task purpose.

The chi chi BB is the only one I haven't tried yet, is it orange though? Their foundations are like that. I really don't like the look of the Bobbi Brown palette, maybe it's just the picture

Try using bronzer as eyeshadow! If you apply just in the crease it makes a really warm natural look

I love the shimmer bricks but the palette breaks quite easily. Everyone I know who has one has complained about the same thing :(

I don't tend to wear that much makeup other than foundation or powder, blush and lippy so I don't really need to multi-task. I do often find myself using my lippy as blush which is handy.

I'm currently using the Chichi BB cream and I'm quite enjoying it! I'm curious about the stick foundation. It's been many years since I used anything like that!
