5 reasons why mineral makeup is great for your skin

When it comes to our skin, we spend a lot of time worrying about whether we’re eating healthy enough, keeping fit and using quality skin care products to ensure a glowing complexion - but one thing many of us have never considered for the sake of our skin, is the type of make-up we use.
Many of you have heard of mineral make-up, but did you know just how great it is for your skin? For example, the Nude by Nature Pressed Mineral Cover does more than offer buildable, flawless coverage - it also reinforces your skin care routine with these amazing benefits.
#1 Hydrates and nourishes
Nude by Nature products are formulated with some of nature’s most moisturising ingredients to help rejuvenate, repair and strengthen your skin. The Pressed Mineral Cover conditions the skin with a beautiful blend of Kakadu plum, avocado oil, jojoba oil and shea butter – as well as some key vitamins and minerals (including titanium dioxide, iron oxide and vitamins C and E). Not to mention, the powerful antioxidants found in these ingredients also help strengthen and protect the skin.
#2 Free from harmful, synthetic ingredients
If your skin is prone to irritation, you’ll be pleased to hear the Pressed Mineral Cover is free from talc, parabens and bismuth - which are synthetic ingredients that often cause havoc for sensitive skin. And when you’re wearing something on your face all day every day, you want to make sure your skin feels as comfortable as possible.
#3 Minimises pores and wrinkles
Because the Nude by Nature Pressed Mineral Cover formula is incredibly lightweight, you might be surprised by how well it provides buildable coverage, which can easily be layered from medium to full. But the best part? It also minimises the appearance of pores and ‘fills in’ the look of wrinkles for a smoother, more youthful-looking complexion. Plus its pressed powder form makes it easy to transport for when you need touch-ups throughout the day.
#4 Controls oil and shine
Above we talked about all the nourishing and hydrating ingredients found in the Pressed Mineral Cover formula, but what about those of us who need oil and shine control? Well fear not, because it also contains Kaolin clay, which helps to purify the skin, eliminating toxins and oils. Not to mention it provides a semi-matte finish that lasts for up to eight hours.
#5 Anti-inflammatory
Another key component of Pressed Mineral Cover is the inclusion of cehami extract and vitamins C and E, for their anti-inflammatory properties. Together, they help calm, renew and deeply moisturise the skin, so you will not only look flawless, but your skin will feel great too.

I have tried mineral makeup and it did not agree with my skin as it made it dry and itchy so I have been completely turned off mineral makeup. Interesting articles here on mineral makeup. Thank you.

I am so unconvinced about mineral makeup even though a very trustworthy friend has become a convert. I guess I'm just happy with what I'm using

I did know but haven't tried but the more I read the more I'm convincing myself to try it (the worst it could do is to be used as a setting powder or bronzer depending on the colour)

I love Nude By Nature! What people need to remember when using loose powder foundations is - Use a primer! It can sweat off other wise! Also Vuild and blend! I found it took me a few weeks to get the hang of applicating it and achieving the air brushed look.

The comments seem to be mixed about mineral make up, but I have decided to try it. My only concern is if it is too dark as I am very fair skinned.

Some mineral makeup companies sell samples of their products. I started a thread on this subject:

I also have pale skin. Lily Lolo has lots of lovely pale shades. Eco Minerals has a pale shade. INIKA's palest shade was too dark for me. Another good brand to try is MOMMA (listed on BH).

I love mineral makeup, I used Physicians Formula for years, it's brilliant but I'd rather buy Australian - like Nude by Nature. It's on my list for the 40% off cosmetics at Priceline sale :)

I was lucky enough to be a part of this trial team. I've actually been liking it more as I have used it. Been wearing it alone and also over liquid foundation.
