Backlight Priming Filter Reviews

Did not expect to like this but damn I really did. I have oily skin which means any primer claiming to make me look glowy just scares and disappoints me. when i pumped it out, it looked like a liquid highlight/foundation hybrid and I thought that even if it didn't make my skin even oilier it would surely break me out.

it has a perfumey smell that i don't like nor dislike, and its a good consistency (not too thick or thin). when i applied it on my face i looked like a glowing disco ball and i loved it, so did everyone else. it made me look so fresh and bright that i was a little sad the effect would disappear once i applied foundation over the top. when i applied foundation the glow still came through in a more wearable, lit-from-within way! it was sooo nice!

like I said i have oily skin so i wasn't expecting it to last too long, and after 5 hours i was an oily girl but i've definitely had primers intended for oiler skin that have held up worse than this primer did. I really like it and will continue to use it because it hasn't broken me out.

This primer is amazing
I’ve been religiously using a solid primer for the better part of 2 years and have never thought to switch it up as it’s been absolutely perfect, but this primer, omg!
It isn’t thick or sticky, it goes on seamlessly and adds a subtle but luminous glow to my skin (which literally lasted more than 6 hours sans makeup)
It’s slightly thicker than water, so the primer is very fluid and easy to work with/ blend into the skin to create that blur.
I think the best thing about this primer is it’s versatility, it doesn’t just act as a base for foundation and makeup, but it can shine on its own, leaving the skin with a beautiful sheer, healthy glow.

Now, under my makeup, this primer still manages to maintain a little bit of the glow bringing the subtlety right down to a soft dewy look that isn’t sweat like
My foundation (westman atelier vital skin stick) sat perfectly on top, giving me a natural look ~ non cakey, and lasted for 8hrs without looking dull.

However I do find I like the primer by itself with a little bit of the Becca light shifting concealer in my redder areas and high points as it leaves me looking dewy, plump and according to my husband, like a glowy angel.

The only thing I disliked about the primer was the initial scent, I have a very sensitive nose and the fragrance stood out, but only prior to application. After it was blended into my skin fully I couldn’t smell it anymore so I’m very happy with it!
