FIT me! Matte + Poreless Foundation Reviews

I've never been a huge fan of drugstore products because I generally have quite sensitive skin which makes me scared to use 'lower-quality' products - I always feel the need to get samples and try them first, and I tend to only get to do that with department store brands etc. Given this as a trial product though, I decided to take a leap of faith after hearing so many good stories about the FITme range and I'm definitely really impressed!!

Opening the bottle, I was a little bit annoyed that it's just a twist top/open-ended bottle, which makes getting the product out a little bit more difficult than a pump or squeeze tube. I enjoyed that the foundation wasn't strong smelling like other brands though. The consistency is good and easy to apply, which I did with a brush, and spread easily, easy to work with. On application, I didn't find that there were any streaks, it blended really quite nicely, and offered a medium coverage which could be built-up. (I don't think this could build up to a 'full' coverage though - I think it's too thin to be really piled on). After wearing and sweating through it for a full day, it was still wonderfully matte and stayed in place, without my skin feeling awfully grubby or gross!

I'm really impressed with this foundation, and I'd definitely buy it for myself in the future! For me, I think I'll be using this as an everyday and evening foundation, but perhaps not as a formal/special occasion foundation.

Packaging: It came in a glass rectangle bottle which was very sleek and neat. It did not come with a pump, so I just poured it out onto my fingers as I went along. The edges made the It would have been much easier to use if it had came with a pump for hygiene reason

Product: For me, there were both pros and cons to this product. The pros are: the product does exactly what is promises, a matte foundation that does reduce the visibility of your pores. I applied this using my fingers and the application went on my skin very easily. I used a light moisturizer underneath as I have dry skin and found that this method worked really well for me. It leaves my skin looking really smooth. It did blend in with my natural skin very well and didn’t look as though it sat on top of my skin making it obvious that I had foundation on. The product didn’t cause me to breakout, however it should be noted that my skin isn’t that prone to breaking out from foundations.

The con of this product, which may not be for others depending on individual preference, but for me the coverage is quite light and sheer. As I have blemishes (pimple scars), it didn’t quite cover that and my red spots still shone through. However, this would be very suitable for ladies whom have blemish-free skin and looking for a foundation that looked quite natural. The colour range was also very limited, but this is usually typical of drug store foundations.

Recommendation: Whilst this product is not a HG for me due to its light coverage, I would recommend this product to friends who have clearer skin than mine are just looking for natural everyday matte look. I would consider buying this product again to use on days when I don’t want heavy makeup and using foundation for the purposes of evening out most of my skin tones.

I really liked the packaging and was nice and sleek, the only downfall was that it didn't have a dispenser but this is only a minor flaw! Other than that I really liked the matte coverage, and longevity. It really targeted my T-Zone areas and lasted most of the day with only a minor touch up needed. The foundation gives a airbrush finish and looks even better when buffed with a beauty blender. Another great element is that the foundation is build-able, so I can have a light coverage for work during the day and then build it for a more night time glamorous look.

I have tried many chemist foundations and this one is by far the best! It glides on smoothly and blended in to my natural skin tone as well as reducing shine without looking caked on. The scent is pleasant and mild and it feels soft and creamy. The packaging is simple and I like that it is in glass. It is easy to use but I would prefer a pump or brush applicator.
Overall I thought it is a great foundation for everyday work days but I do prefer a yellowish tone like Mac does-it makes my tanned skin look bronzed and natural.
But that is just personal preference.

I absolutely love this foundation. This foundation comes in a sleek package that is nice and compact, however the only issue I have with the packaging is that it is not a dispenser, instead it requires you to pour it out on your hand (making you use more than required). Maybeline fit me matte + poreless foundation gave me a beautifully flawless matte look that hid all my blemishes and imperfections (beauty spots and scars). I applied it onto my skin using a beauty blender and it gave me a nice full coverage. I would highly recommend this product as it is super amazing in look and texture. Plus it lasted for most of the day, which is a bonus.
