    What is mineral makeup?

    There’s no denying that mineral make-up’s popularity has grown over the years. In fact, we’d be pretty surprised if you told us you’d never heard of it.
     
    But while you may have heard the term ‘mineral’ bandied about, you may not be so sure on what it actually means or if mineral products should be a little more present in your make-up kit.

    What is mineral make-up?

    Many of you may think mineral make-up is synonymous with loose powder, but in reality, any product can be a mineral make-up product – it simply means that the product is primarily made up of ground teeny, tiny micro-particles (also known as micronized particles) that were once minerals sitting deep in the depths of the earth. While some minerals – like talc for example – can irritate sensitive skin, most of the minerals used in mineral make-up have been shown to have skin care benefits as well as a strong colour/coverage payoff. 
     

    How is mineral make-up different to traditional make-up?

    I haven’t tried Nude by Nature products. I’m really loving Bare Minerals products. I’ve got lots of them. Please BH can you list them so I can write reviews for them.

    I have been using Nude by Nature for a few years now and it is by far the best loose powder mineral make up I have tried. I have to be careful to ensure my moisturiser has soaked in first before applying.

    Have used nude by nature several times and I love it! Have even converted my mother to using it! It's amazing on nature skin and she finds it so light as the powder does not cake on her face! 4stars from me

    I reallllly want to try mineral makeup (I went to buy a loose powder yesterday but they were out of stock). I can't give up my cream foundation though as I'm scared powder will crack and just look messy as I've only ever used powder to set my makeup

    I have the Nude by Nature pressed and and loose mineral cover and I love how it feels on my skin. The primer is also very good and helps to keep it in place longer. I only ever build it to medium coverage but makes your skin look good without being cakey. Thier brushes are fanatstic.

    The few mineral make-up's I have tried have offered little to no coverage! I may have to give one of these another shot though..

    I have been using mineral makeup for years due to huge issues with most foundations causing my sensitive skin irritation, ended up buying direct from a supplier, then the mineral boom took off and everyone suddenly wants mineral makeup and the price went up x3!

    I love using 100% mineral makeup, as long as it is free of bismuth oxychloride. There are so many wonderful Australian companies selling mineral makeup today.
