100% Natural Lipstick Reviews

I was lucky enough to be sent this 100% natural lipstick as part of the Burt's Bees trial team and I'm so glad I was lucky enough to be chosen!! The packaging is so pretty, it's like a normal lipstick package/tube but it looks like it has a bee hive imprinted in it!! Love it!!
The lipstick itself is just amazing, it just glides on to my lips like a LipBalm would but with the added bonus of it's pretty pink shade, very soft and feminine. I've seen these in the shops but hadn't got around to buying one yet, now I know I'll be buying more for sure!! The pigmentation is amazing, it gave me full coverage that lasts for a few hours. It didn't dry out my lips either, so my lips felt and looked oh so soft and kissable.
Another fantastic product from Burt's Bees, do go out and buy one for yourself, you won't regret it!!!

I received Burt's Bees 100% Natural lipstick in the shade 501 Blush Basin. It comes in a gorgeous square tube with a honeycomb pattern and colour peeking through.

The lipstick glides on so super smooth and has a nice subtle scent which I find quite pleasing. The shade Blush Basin is so lovely it's a pinkish/nude colour which makes my lips look nice and healthy. I also love knowing it has natural ingredients as we all end up eating our lippie at the end of the day!

Staying power is not that great but it doesn't claim to be long lasting.

It is much more hydrating than the Burt's bees lip crayon, but I don't find it any more hydrating than other lipsticks and not as hydrating as a lip balm which I was a hoping it would be.

I received this colour in Blush Basin, a gorgeous nudey-rose that really encompasses what a my lips but better shade should be. It's the perfect contrast to most makeup looks, my favourite ways to wear this was to compliment a nude glowy look, or to set of a golden smokey eye. This lipstick adds a beautiful pigment to the lip, while still looking very natural. This is definitely a build able colour.

The product glides on easily, smoothing and moisturising throughout the application. It wears evenly on the lips, however if you do layer the product too much it will start to clump in areas. It felt very comfortable on my lips, which have been a little drier due to the seasons changing. It lasts well for regular use. But with intensive use (eating, drinking) you will need to keep it on hand to reapply. I found it would last around the 3-4 hour mark.

It has a sweet but subtle smell, nothing overly offensive and very gentle on sensitive noses. The packaging is a sleek muted brown with a thin strip showing the lipsticks colour. It does feel a little cheaper in make compared to other similar priced items, a little plastic and light in the hands. I feel like it might get lost in my makeup drawers easily.

I love that this is a 100% natural product though. It makes me feel confident I'm not polluting my face, especially my lips! Overall I found the finish to be phenomenal when compared to what I'd previously thought of natural lip products in terms of pigmentation and treatment.

Firstly, thank you BH for letting me try this one out as part of the trial team. The shade I received was '501 Blush Basin' which is a dusty pink. On my olive skin tone, it matches well with my lip colour, a nude for me.

I have enjoyed using the lipstick, with the tapered tip, it is easy to apply as you would any other lipstick. I applies smoothly, and is more moisturising than the lip crayon in the same range, I find. The staying power of the lipstick is not that long, as I am one to lick my lips regularly. However, with the colour, gaps aren't so noticeable. The scent is slightly sweet, but soft.

Another note is the packaging. It is quite cute, a matte rectangular case with a pull-off lid. The lid is long, which means that I have found it doesn't pop off into your handbag leaving your lippy cap-free (good one).

The first thing I noticed about the lipstick was the unique casing. The brown tube is rectangular with square edges but on the lid it has cutouts like honeycomb that allow a 2nd layer to show through which is the colour of the lipstick. The lid clips on very securely so I have no concerns about it coming off in my bag.

I received the lipstick in a beautiful shade named Blush Basin. I really loved the shade as it was a natural pink that was slightly darker than my natural lip colour but still quite subtle. The lipstick glided onto my lips with ease and it was easy to apply an even coverage to my lips using the angled tip.

I found the lipstick lasted on my lips for hours when I didn’t eat but needs some reapplication after eating. It was so moisturising it felt like I was wearing a lipbalm, and when it wore off my lips were left feeling hydrated. The fragrance is hard to describe but it is definitely not that ‘chemical lipstick’ smell that some have because it is natural, it is more of a sweet subtly fruity fragrance that I really like.

I think the price of this lipstick is very reasonable given it is a 100% natural product. I prefer to use natural products when I can but especially for the lips as it seems so much more of the product is consumed because of where it is applied. I will be looking out for this range in the shops and will most likely purchase some of the other shades especially if they have something a little darker/brighter.

The tube is larger than a standard tube of lipstick. I thought the tube looked nice until I took the plastic off. The lid has a brown honeycomb design with the lip colour showing through. When I removed the clear plastic wrap, the brown plastic tube looks dull & is surprisingly light.

Blush Basin is a nude colour, so I can't tell how long it lasts. It has a heavy feel on my lips, like Vaseline, but my lips feel soft after wearing it.

WOULD I PURCHASE? No. I dislike the heavy feel. I feel like I need to wipe my mouth with a napkin.

I'm a tough subject when it comes to lip products because my lips are super dry and I struggle to find lipsticks that don't make matters worse. Happily this one doesn't and it's easily my favourite of the four Burt's Bees products I received to test.

I have the shade 501 Blush Basin, which is a nice everyday pinky nude that has some life to it and it doesn't pull too pink or cool on my medium colouring. While the pigment is there, you do need to build it a bit to get the colour to show (that's probably partly because my lips are quite dark), but I don't mind that and I'd prefer to build colour, rather than have something I can't whack on without a mirror.

These do have a sweet, sugary scent that's not overpowering and I don't mind it. The formula is nourishing enough that I can wear it on my dry lips without a balm or gloss - plus it doesn't dry out my lips after a few days of wear, so that's a huge plus.

The lasting power isn't great but it usually isn't for creamy products like this and I don't mind that. The product applies smoothly without tugging and it's super comfortable to wear. It also doesn't emphasise lip lines, which is something I personally look for in a lipstick.

I really like the look of the packaging, too: it might feel a bit cheap/plastic, but it doesn't look that way and the lid clicks firmly into place so the product should travel well.

Overall I recommend these and I would consider buying myself more shades from the range.

I tried out the shade in 501 Blush Basin which is this lovely neutral, soft pink shade that looks so lovely on the lips. I felt that the formula was so moisturising and the lipstick is very creamy in consistency. It's a great option for a light wear during the day or should you want a pop of colour to your lips. The coverage from this lipstick is just amazing.

The packaging comes in a gorgeous bee-hive inspired lipstick packaging which makes it look very attractive to the eye. I don't mind their unique packaging because it comes from recyclable packaging which is better for the environment. The lipsticks don't dry out the lips which is why I'd recommend this lipstick during the cold seasons too.

Overall, the finish on this lipstick is a smooth and satin finish. It's not glossy or anything like that which is different to note.

I received the shade Blush Basin as part of the Burt's Bees Trial Team. This is a lovely pinky nude shade.

The lipstick packaging is chocolate and pink in colour. The squared tube has a cute textured honeycomb design. This product has a slight honey like scent that is quite pleasant. I don't notice a taste.

I find that the actual bullet is slightly smaller in diameter than most regular lipsticks. Which makes a more precise application easier and lipstick on the outside of the lips is less likely to occur.

This lipstick has a creamy consistency once applied. One swipe on the lips gives me an opaque shade. It's not quite matte, having more of a satin finish. During wear, I can feel the lipstick, but it's not at all heavy or drying. I find my lips feel moisturised, almost like I'm wearing a balm.

The lipstick is long lasting, staying put for many hours. I did not experience any unwanted feathering or bleeding into my lip lines. I also appreciate that I'm wearing a lip product that not only gives me colour, but is good for my lips, too.

I would recommend the Burt's Bees Natural Lipstick to any lipstick lover. In fact, I might need to buy some more shades for myself!
