Video how-to: create your own matte lipstick
The ladies of Hollywood love a bright, bold matte lip. So too do the trend-setting ladies in the 'real world'. And we don't blame them. Not one little bit. There's just something striking about a colourful pout that's sans the shine...
But how do you adopt this fun make-up trend if you don't actually own a matte lipstick? You don't need to go out and buy one, that's for sure. I've got a trick that'll see you turning your trusty ol' favourite satin or shine finish lipstick into a matte one – and all you need is a similar coloured blush.
So, watch on above to learn this nifty make-up trick, and enjoy the attention that's sure to follow when you're rocking a sexy, colourful matte lip.

I like to switch it up between lippies, but usually rock a gloss finish because usually they offer better moisturisation

What a neat idea; why didn't I think of this myself? I wear matte lipstick all the time now, as my over-49 lips are wrinkled and make satin, moisture-laden lippies 'feather' and bleed all over. And there's NO room for that with streetwalker red lipstick, believe me. Never smoked a day in my life but my lip crinkles make you think I might've.
I wish I could wear a beautiful shiny, glossed-to-the-max lip colour, but those days are gone. Is there a (sticky, 'Kissing Potion'-type) gloss out there which is guaranteed to stay put and not feather? Clear/colourless is the only one I feel safe with, although Mary Kay has some good ones which I wear in pale colours.
Can't wait to get some blush powders now and start experimenting! Thanks BH!
