The only eye makeup brush you need to know about

If anyone knows about make-up brushes, it’s Nic and Sam Chapman. Not only do the sisters have a whopping two million subscribers to their beauty YouTube channel, Pixiwoo, but their beauty tool range in partner with Real Techniques is also globally successful.

You may already know about their Miracle Complexion Sponge, but when we asked the girls what they think the most underrated eye make-up brush is, “The Deluxe Crease Brush” was their answer.
Found in The Starter Set, the girls say it has so many other uses than just applying shadow. “We really recommend using it to apply concealer under the eye,” they said.

The brush has a rounded edge with dense bristles and is the perfect size for covering blemishes, highlighting small areas like the Cupid’s bow and inner corner of the eye, and of course for blending eyeshadow (bh member Jodi89 praises it for fitting perfectly in her eye crease).
Try pairing it with these products to create the perfect smoky eye:
- Mirenesse Superlong Wear Gel Eye Liner
- Eye of Horus Sekhmet Smokey Palette
- Maybelline The Colossal Volum' Express Smoky Eyes Mascara
- Glam by Manicare Adriana Lashes
And if you want to catch Sam and Nic while they’re in Australia, here’s where they’ll be:
Sydney – Thursday 8 September at Priceline Pharmacy, Pitt St Mall, 5:00 - 5:45pm.
Melbourne – Saturday 10 September at Priceline Pharmacy, Doncaster, 2:00 - 2:45pm.
What do you think the most underrated make-up brush is? Do you own a brush similar to the Deluxe Crease Brush?

If I'm in a rush I find it hard to get my blending right. I'm all for the right tools, however planning helps!

I finally got myself one! As I am a fan of eyelining with eye pigments , never wearing shadows on lids, I got that Push Eyeliner Brush 46 nars...not too shabby, it gets the job done, and the way I want. perfect

I love to switch between the Real Techniques, Designer Brands and MAC eyeshadow blending brush. They are all great; the DB is a bit better because OMG so SOFT!

I have brushes like these in my collection, but a little less think. I'm interested in expanding my collection and I think the the deluxe crease brush would make a nice addition!

I would say it works better as concealer brush than eyeshadow. Not many people have big eyes, when you have smaller eyes, you go for smaller brushes. I for one find this too big for applying/blending eyeshadow

I want to buy this cool brush now. Will be useful to blend colour through the eye creases and love the bronze colour of the eyeshadow in the picture, so glam!

Its nice that the brush is versatile but if you use it for applying concealer you can't really use it to apply eye shadow before washing off the product and vice versa. Thats where you'd still have to have a separate brush for both.

Yes, you'd need to double up, so it kind of defeats the purpose of a multi-use brush.

I think I need to try more brushes, for some reason, I'm more confident using my finger(s) to apply most of my makeup. I have to give my brushes a good go!

My most favourite brush in my collection is the Models Prefer dome face brush. It is perfect for under the eye area
