Today I have a new best friend. It followed me to a breakfast meeting this morning and then into work. It’s currently nestled under my desk and I know it I won’t be leaving without it.
Meet my gym bag. Ok, so I’ve been pretty slack the last couple of months. And I’ve taken more comfort in coats and layers than I should. But there’s no place to hide in the Carla Zampatti sequinned dress I’ve chosen for bh’s first birthday celebration next month.
Oh yes, we’re turning one and we’re going to party like it’s 1999. Or 2007 at least. But more on that later (lots more actually, and let me promise you’ll be excited too). Right now it’s time to put the gym bag before the cocktail dress.
Naturally this is the perfect excuse to hand-select some of the best beauty extras any girl could hope for in a gym buddy. So here’s what’s packed along with my trainers, leggings and tank.
Firstly, Proactiv Solution Make-up Removing Cloths to whip away make-up before training. Sweating is the name of the game and I don’t want anything getting between my pores and my towel. Speaking of such things, Dove Anti-Perspirant Stick will be making an appearance too.
What else, what else? Oh, because nothing feels better than a facial spray when your skin is warmer than tom yum, Dermalogica Multi-Active Toner will be there to help skin cool down at the end. It’s best used after cleansing but since the lavender extract has anti-bacterial properties, this spray can also limit any post-exercise breakout before it begins. Bring it on.
And because I need a post-shower reward to look forward to, I’ve already decided to bust out a SK-II Facial Treatment Mask at home. These Pitera-enriched cloth sheets feel sensational: cooling and intensely moisturising and they also make skin glow.
Now if that lovely haul of indulgences isn’t a good enough reason to get moving, I don’t know what is. Apart from that sparkly party dress.
