Meghan Markle aside, Ariana Grande is probably the most famous lady alive right now. After a whirlwind engagement to Pete Davidson and a massive new music video, Ariana has been the talk of the town in 2018.

It's easy, now that she's the biggest pop star on the planet, to forget that she once had fire-engine-red hair and starred on Nickelodeon’s Victorious. But thankfully, we have the internet to remind us. And oh BOY did it remind us when stumbled upon an old makeup tutorial she made in 2012.

If you haven’t seen it, you need to (and you can do above). She did it because her fans asked, so the video is literally called, “Makeup tutorial by Ariana Grande (I don't know how to do make up)”, and everything, from the jazzy piano music playing in the background to her dropping every second product, is gold.

It’s a far cry from the perfectly put-together makeup tutorials we see now but we guarantee that’s why you’re going to love it.

#1 Why she doesn’t normally use eyeshadow

When Ariana starts applying her eyeshadow, she admits that she doesn’t normally use it. Instead she, er, embraces her natural beauty. “I don't usually use a lot of eyeshadow. I usually just - I usually just don’t put makeup on my eyelids,” she says to the camera. “It’s the weirdest – I’ll just use the darkness of my tired eyes as my eyeshadow. But because I’m doing this makeup tutorial I thought I’d go all out.”

#2 Her immediate makeup regret

Turns out, going “all out” wasn’t for Ariana. After applying her eyeshadow, she realised she hated it and wiped it all off before trying again. We’ve been there, girl.

#3 How she keeps her hands clean

After applying her foundation with her fingers, Ariana looks around for "the nearest article of used clothing" to wipe them clean on. The funniest part? She settles for the rug she's sitting on instead!

#4 The commentary about her makeup skills

From the start, Ariana admitted she wasn’t the best at makeup so instead laughed her way through the tutorial. Her commentary provides a lot of LOLs. “I put my makeup on like a five-year-old doing an art project,” has to be our favourite line!

Despite what we’ve said about the makeup tutorial up until this point, we have to say we do love the products she's used. Benefit Hoola bronzer? Love it. Clinique High Impact Mascara? Amazing. Plus, by the end, Ariana’s makeup looks great!
