Start by applying a cream eyeshadow base over the lid. Look for a long-wear formula that’s crease-free and won’t flake or fade
For party season, choose an eye popping shade that makes your eye colour stand out

Look for a lipstick with a glossy finish.

If you’ve been taking great care of your complexion this year, you might want to focus on enhancing your skin.
You’ll see lots of shimmery highlighter this season, and thanks to Instagram you’ll probably see most women wearing too much.
The trick is to look more glow than disco. Instead of reaching for drying powders that will sit on the surface of your skin, start by applying a cream blush with your fingers so that it melts into the skin.
Then, using a cream luminizer, dab onto the high points of your face with your fingers. This will leave your complexion looking glowy and youthful, with enough shimmer to show off your gorgeous complexion.

There are some lovely suggestions here. I'm into cream eyeshadows at present and I find my eye makeup looks so much better if I keep it simple.

I love the glossy lipstick look and I've been wearing it forever. Even if I apply a matte lipstick first I end up putting a dab of gloss on top because it's a more flattering look for me.

Agree. Matte can be better in some ways as it generally lasts longer but I would sometimes prefer for it to wear off rather my lips looking like the bottom of a dry creek bed.

I remember I did a full face of makeup recently, and when I came back home and removed my makeup, I was shocked at how much younger I looked without makeup. I feel like going back to minimal makeup like I used to before the bold brow, matte lipstick trend began, feels more me.

It works well for me but I was advised to steer clear of the medium shade.

I think there should be a caveat about glitter because I think over a certain age you shouldn't wear it (like me).
If you remember wearing it the first time around when it was fashionable, you're probably too old to wear it again.
