Morning sickness survival tips
Congratulations, if you’re reading this the chances are you are currently experiencing the joys of morning sickness, or as I like to call it the eight-week hangover. It is estimated that morning sickness affects around 80 per cent of all women, and as much as I wished I’d be in the 20 per cent minority, boy was I wrong.
Just like every mascara is different, so is every pregnancy, and while I can share how I managed to survive, what worked for me may not work for you. So before you do anything, always make sure you check with your doctor on what is and isn’t safe for your pregnancy.
Here are my top three morning sickness survival tips:
Sea-Band Acupressure Wristbands for nausea relief
Sea-band is a knitted elasticised wristband that applies continuous pressure on the Pericardium 6 (P6 or Nei-Kuan) point on each wrist using a plastic stud. Constant pressure is thought to prevent or relieve feelings of nausea.
Blackmore’s morning sickness formula
This formula contains B6 and ginger and is thought to help relieve the symptoms of morning sickness such as vomiting and nausea.
A constant supply of biscuits and crackers
It is thought that eating small amounts of food often can help ward off those constant feelings of nausea. I found that continuously snacking on a variety of plain biscuits and crackers meant I could get by without needing to run for the bathroom.
At 14 weeks now I am finally starting to see some light, so all I can do is wish you luck and tell you that it will get better, and even if it doesn’t, you will at least get used to it.
