How Visine Eye Drops can help acne and dark circles

Visine (aka those life-saving drops that clear up your red and itchy eyes) can be used to help your acne and dark circles. We know, we know, it sounds way to good to be true but stay with us on this, it's a hack you'll want to hear...

Allure spoke with David Bank, a New York dermatologist, who says a couple of drops of Visine patted under your eyes can work wonders. "Broken or dilated blood vessels under your eyes often cause or contribute to dark circles, especially if your skin is very fair," David told Allure. "Visine constricts blood vessels, so it'll make that less obvious."
But before you get too excited, it's important to note that Visine works on dark circles that stem from blood vessels, but it won’t get rid of dark circles caused by hyperpigmentation or your good old genetics.
Sporting some red and angry acne right now? Visine can tackle that too. "Visine also takes the red out of pimples," David told Allure. So while it won’t reduce your acne or pimples, it can make them look less obvious (which, let's be real, is all you're really hoping for when an ill-timed pimple comes your way).
So now you can stock up on Visine Eye Drops ($5.49, chemistwarehouse.com.au) to sort out your sore and tired eyes AND reduce the appearance of your acne and dark circles. What a nifty little bottle to have handy!
If you need to get rid of a zit asap, beautyheaven also loves the Ultraceuticals Ultra Clear Spot Treatment and the Natio Acne Clear Purifying Spot treatment.

I always have an emergency bottle of eye drops with me as my eyes are quite sensitive. I've never used them for other purposes but good to know if i need a quick fix.

This sounds like a nifty little tricky that would work as a quick cover up, however this is not a treatment or a solution.

My husband uses eye drops. I might have to borrow it to try.

I don't purchase eye drops very often. I never knew that they could do that.

Hmm, all the more reason to use up the Vision that's been sitting on my bedside table rather than letting it expire.

I don't use visine eye drops, and never thought of using it for hyperpigmentation.

No way! Thanks for this awesome tip BH! I have those broken or dilated blood vessels under my eyes as well as my genetic dark circles, due to my very fair skin! Last time I was getting my lashes done, my technician commented on the redness. I hadn't noticed it until I took a close-up photo of my eye. So red! I need new eyedrops too so definitely going to try this!

This is interesting. While I understand their premise, I'm dubious. Anyone has had any luck?

Never needed to use eye drops. That sounds interesting. Unless blood vessel related, it will make both the dark circles and acne less obvious. Maybe a good hack to give the make up a break...

My dark under eyes are mostly thanks to genetics (yay me!) but at such a low cost, I might give Visine a try anyway. And well, if they don't work, they I could use them as eye drops! lol

Mine are a combination of genetic and allergies. Cool green tea bags work a treat in a pinch!
