The best daytime anti-ageing routine

Is there anything more satisfying than taking off your make-up, cleansing your skin, and slathering on top-notch anti-ageing prods at the end of a long day? As a skin care editor, I’d have to say no! And then you head to bed, and wake up looking/feeling like this:
You revel in all your glowy, healthy, plumped-skin glory, and go about getting ready for the day. But within a few hours, you look/feel like this:
The pesky signs of ageing have set in and your make-up has made them look even worse… Oh hey there, forehead lines, crows feet, make-up sitting in crows feet, parched lips, smile lines, and those damn dark spots…
The solution? Amp up your daytime anti-ageing skin care routine. Here’s how…
STEP 1: CLEANSE
Cleansing each morning rinses away leftover residue from your skin care products as well as oils and sweat that may have built up overnight. Cleanse with a hydrating cleanser to help your skin to retain all that nourishment and plumpness you woke up with.

STEP 2: TONE
To tighten enlarged pores and rock a #flawless complexion, soak a cotton pad in toner and swipe it over your skin. It’s the step that so many people skip – let’s change that!

STEP 3: SERUM
Choose a serum that’s rich in antioxidants to protect your skin from premature ageing, as well as loads of hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid to keep fine lines and wrinkles on the plump side.

STEP 4: MOISTURISER WITH SPF
One of the most – if not the most – important step in your daily skin care routine is to pop on a moisturiser with a high SPF. It will help to shield your skin from the damaging effects of the sun’s UVA and UVB rays and keep those wrinkles and dark spots at bay.

STEP 5: PRIMER
If your make-up tends to settle into your fine lines and wrinkles, it’s time to start using a primer before applying your make-up. It’ll help to seal your pores and lines so your make-up applies better, making your skin look super smooth and flawless.

STEP 6: BLOT
As the day goes on, your make-up may wear off as your skin’s natural oils or dryness set in. Mattify your complexion and help to re-seal pores and make-up by dabbing your skin with a blotting tissue.

STEP 7: MIST
Dehydration is a major culprit for exposing lines and wrinkles, so lightly mist your face throughout the day with a facial mist. It’ll instantly plump lines and tighten pores, and – bonus – it won’t mess with your make-up.

I don't do half of these! I wash my face in the morning with water only! Occasionally I use a toner & serum but serum mainly at night! I can't be bothered slathering 10 products on I don't have the time!

I also like to apply some moisturising eye cream in the morning and let that sink in so that my under-eye concealer applies nicely!

All necessary to do in the morning now, especially the serum. It is great to find quality moisturisers with sunscreen existing.

I haven't been moisturising during the day at all. My skin can absorb facial oil, then SPF - that's it! My skin isn't "thirsty" in that regard.

I do a similar routine but try to downplay my routine around most people as some people can become so judgmental.
