Is bee venom the new Botox?

When I was little, I sat on the edge of a pool, and it turned out a bee was sitting there too. Within seconds, cue a screaming child and a majorly swollen butt cheek. Ouch.
How on earth does this story relate to skin care, you ask? Well, bee venom causes swelling of the skin, so the skin care geniuses out there thought it’d be a fab idea to put it into skin care products to plump out lines and wrinkles. Makes sense, right?
So, how does bee venom benefit skin?
Bee venom stimulates blood circulation within the skin, which helps to plump and firm the skin, making fine lines and wrinkles less visible. Thanks to this sudden rush of blood under the skin’s surface, bee venom can also stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. The result? Instantly plumper skin, and younger-looking, healthier skin over time.
How should I use bee venom?
Because of its anti-ageing and plumping benefits, some skin care brands have formulated moisturisers, face masks and serums with bee venom. This makes it super simple to incorporate the stuff into your skin care routine. Just switch your regular serum or moisturiser for one containing bee venom and watch your skin reap the benefits!

Keen to get Kylie Jenner-like lips without committing to injections and looking OTT? A bee venom-based product our members have fallen head over heels for is the Abeeco Bee Venom Lip Plumper. Check out a couple of reviews below.
“The first time I tried the lip plumper, I was so surprised of the immediate effect. My lips tingled a lot, which I thought was a little weird, but it just showed how effective the formula was! After a few applications, the tingling didn't seem as strong as before, but I could see a considerable difference in my lips. Not only were my lips plumper, but also the creases were considerably smoother. I’m a very satisfied lady! :)” – Belle88
“It doesn't plump massively, but it does hydrate your lips and plump out all of the lines. The tingling sensation brings colour to the lips, also making them look fuller and rosier.” – MsSparkles
Step aside, Botox!
Did you know about bee venom’s anti-ageing effect on skin? Are you keen to try products containing bee venom?

I will look out for this as I would love to try and see how it works. Both for my lips and my face.

I recently tried a moisturiser with bee venom in it which I loved but I had a bad reaction to it so I'm guessing I'm allergic :(

I tried a bee venom plumping lip balm, and OUCH it stung my lips like crazy! I persevered for a while, but gave up after a while. Not worth the pain.

I'm pretty sure bee venom has been kicking around for a bit. Nice to see it getting it's moment in the sun!

I really love my Abeeco bee venom mask, but I wouldn't say it's because of a botoxy effect. To be honest, I don't notice too much plumping. What I do notice is a great flush of colour to my face, which I really like. I'd love to try Abeeco's new serum. It sounds great.

I'd like to try these, but the cost is a bit much considering don't know if it really works or not - too scared to botox, lol

I'd be interested to see some reviews of products that contain bee venom to see if they live up to expectation. I feel like Ive tried everything (except botox, lasers my next step to try) for my premature wrinkles and while they havent gotten worse nothing has really softened them.

Nope I had no idea that it had long term beauty benefits for the skin! I thought it just plumped a bit temporarily so that is good news for those who love this bee idea!

I used to be allergic to Bee stings, not sure I'd try anything with Bee venom in it.

Well this is an interesting read! Bee venom, huh? I guess we better start saving those bees from all them pesky insecticides, since they are dying off very quickly, and our darling bees, along with the butterflies, are the two major methods of food crop fertilisation!
