If you're going through menopause bring this one ingredient with you

We spend the majority of our younger years cursing our hormone-induced oily skin.
We wait for the day when the excess sebum production, responsible for our greasy, acne-prone and congested complexion, leaves us for good.

Fast forward to menopause though, where our hormones are now yoyo-ing differently to our youth, and our skin is left dry, papery, dehydrated. And yep, we're all begging for a little bit of that oil back.
This sudden loss of hydration is a result of the body's inability to retain water, often the first symptom of menopause. As our estrogen levels rapidly decline, so too do our collagen stores and sebum production, which results in visible fine lines and deeper set wrinkles.
And while drinking our daily requirement of water is crucial to the skin’s hydration, there is one superhero humectant who earned skin-changing status when it was discovered to be able to hold 1,000 times its weight in water. Hello, hyaluronic acid AKA the hydration magnet.
As the story seems to go, our once naturally produced stores of hyaluronic acid are rapidly declining as we age. So the importance of incorporating a topical serum into your daily routine (pre-moisturising) is a non-negotiable for tackling dry, menopausal skin.
Here are some of our favourite HA serums:
1. Paula’s Choice Hyaluronic Acid Booster
2. Alpha-H Hyaluronic 8
3. CEMOY Hyaluronic Acid Repair Ampoule
4. CeraVe Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum

I have tried to use hyaluronic acid in different products but it does nothing for my older and dry skin.

Go away spammers! Must be just about time for our rewards room! Looking forward to that. I’d like to redeem my points on something like this.

Gawd! The spammers are ridiculous lately aren’t they!? I keep reporting them (as do most regulars) and they keep appearing. Feel sorry for the BH team being constantly bombarded with this BS.

I have been using HA since I was 24 or so. It's basically a water retention ingredient and I think everyone needs it, at any stage of life. Actually our body makes it naturally.

Anyone know when rewards room for 2021 opens? Cant see anything on here. This is not a user friendly site to use anyway! I use Essano Hyaluronic serum it initially smells like fish but smell soon dissipates good product though and affordable! I have tried Thin Lizzy version didn't suit me had alergic reaction to it.

Menopause is not too far off for me. Does it help to start using these products in advance of hitting menopause? That's what I would love to know.

I'm using the Cerave HA serum, however if I can find a quality moisturiser with HA I won't need a separate serum.
