The avocados 'ave it

I’ll be honest. I only discovered my love affair with this big green super fruit this year. Yep, you heard right – this year.
You see, I’m one of those annoyingly picky eaters, and I’d convinced myself that I just didn’t like avocados, not one bit. That was until it was spread on a sandwich of mine without my knowledge, and it’s been love ever since.
I also came across this recipe for an Avocado Carrot Cream Mask that I simply had to share – I know how you all love a homemade beauty recipe after all!
What’s great about this is that the mask combines avocados (rich in vitamin E) with carrots (chock-full of antioxidants), and cream, (packed with calcium and protein), so it helps to rebuild skin collagen, improve tone and texture and fade age spots.
What you need:
- 1 avocado, mashed
- 1 carrot, cooked and mashed
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3 tablespoons honey
To prepare, simply combine all ingredients in a bowl until smooth. Spread gently over your face and neck, and leave in place for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with cool water and follow with your favourite toner.
What’s your favourite way to enjoy avocados?

Hi It's Sandra, I love chicken avocado sandwiches...........YUM YUM It's my favourite way to eat avocado. I don't think my mouth would let me put avocado on my skin, my hand would keep going to my mouth out of habit..........Ha Ha

That looks so cool, I'll have to try that. I'm pretty picky with avos, but i don't mind them with other things, like with chicken or in sushi.

With so many people saying they love avocado Im surprised more people dont use it on their skin - which is so so easy......next time Instead of just throwing the avocado skin in the bin after you've made your lunch, rub it all over your face. Leave for five minutes and rinse. Voila! ( this is easier with the green skin varieties as the black hass avocados can have a skin which is a bit too flaky for this. This is also a good way to use papaya or mango skin which is awesome for skin too!

I'm a late bloomer myself when It comes to Avocado's but I did know they were super good for you :-) I've never put them on my face before though I have read about the great benefits they can give your skin. I might have to have a go at using them as a mask. Thanks for the great beauty tips :-)

Great mask recipe. My favourite way to eat avocados is spread on foccacia bread with prawns, thousand island dressing and topped with grated tasty cheese then pop under the grill until it melts. Its called a seafood melt and its beautiful.
