Big news in beauty
After weeks of teasing a makeup collection centred around daughter Stormi, Kylie Jenner has taken to Instagram to officially announce the news. Landing on February 1 (Stormi’s second birthday), the range is a Valentine’s Day themed collection consisting of three mini lip kits, a mini eyeshadow palette, a mini high gloss set, and a pressed powder blush. Wallets at the ready.
Kat Von D has announced her withdrawal from the beauty business, selling her stake in Kat Von D Beauty, the vegan, cruelty-free makeup line she created in partnership with LVMH beauty incubator, Kendo. No need to fret if any of your go-to’s are KVD, though; the line will live on, now fully owned by Kendo and rebranded as KVD Vegan Beauty.
In news bound to delight beauty buffs worldwide, Charlotte Tilbury has released an entire range of products themed around the brand’s iconic lipstick shade ‘Pillow Talk’. “I’ve dialled up my iconic nude-pink Pillow Talk shade adding warmth and deeper, sweeter rose tones, for every skin tone from fair to medium to deep, expanding the Pillow Talk universe for every moment, every mood and everyone," said Tilbury of the release.
Hourglass have announced their first-ever brand ambassador, with model and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley stepping into the role, one she describes as an authentic fit. “I feel at this point in my life, a partnership has to be a meaningful one, has to have integrity,” Huntington-Whiteley told WWD. “For me to be able to talk about the brand or promote it, it has to be authentic and in this case, it absolutely is.”
In other exciting brand ambassador news, Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has been appointed as the first global brand ambassador for Clinique. “We didn’t go with a model, we went with somebody with a human personality,” Clinique Senior Vice President and Global Creative Director, Elizabeth Nolan, said of the choice. “She’s got such a human, emotional, real authenticity to her. She’s funny, she’s honest, she hasn’t shied away from being herself. That sums up the Clinique consumer as well.” Mother of Dragons, and now the face of Clinique; quite the CV.
