Two of the strangest skin care innovations

At beautyheaven, we love hearing about new approaches to skincare. These two got our vote for the most unusual this week:
Drinkable sunscreen
Ever miss a spot when you apply your sunscreen? Not anymore! The world’s first ingestible sunscreen claims to block 97 percent of harmful UVA and UVB rays by making water molecules vibrate on the skin. While the prospect of drinking just 2mls of Harmonized H20 for SP30 protection sounds appealing, the new product has attracted some scepticism regarding it’s efficacy. For now, we think we’ll stick to the old-fashioned slip, slop, slap.
Vitamin C showers
We all know the importance of vitamin C in our diet, but did you know you can also get it in your shower? With a celebrity following that reportedly includes Leonardo DiCaprio, vitamin infused shower heads claim to reduce the side effects of chlorine exposure – including dry skin, frizzy hair and dandruff – by neutralising the chemical with vitamin Cbefore it hits your head. Unsurprisingly, critics are divided as to whether the filters actually provide any real health advantage.
What new beauty innovations would you like to see?

I would love to see much more in the drinkable steaks. Drinkable bronzing, moisturiser and hair colour, how fantastic and easy would that be.

sound like something that i wouldn't want to try. Drinkable sunscreen already put me off from the concept of it. How can they ensure that there won't be any residual from the drink left in the body after certain hours. It cant be wash off like normal sunscreen since it is in your body. Vitamin C shower...really? Vitamin C is water soluble...so it pretty much will be wasted in the shower.

I think drinking vitamin C would actually be better for our skin then just showering in it.

Can't see myself drinking sunscreen anytime soon. Doesn't sound very appealing to me at all.

I'd be scared of the chemicals in drinkable sunscreen.... Doesn't sound safe. I prefer to stay in the shade and wear sunscreen.

I've heard of drinkable sunscreen, even all natural drinkable sunscreen. Not sure if they actually work though, and I don't want to be a guinea pig for that.. I'd love to get my hands on the vitamin c shower head thing though :)

Drinkable sunscreen, mmm, I just don't know, not for me, I would want more testing on the product I think.

Both of these sound like gimmicks for suckers. Drinkable sunscreen sounds like a joke product and I would wonder how it affected other parts of the body, not just skin

Our bodies are already dealing with countless chemicals, so I wouldn't drink sunscreen. I'm interested in a shower head that reduces chlorine because it is a chemical (among others) that may effect the thyroid, and I have a thyroid condition. I haven't done the research as to whether a vitamin C shower head is better than other types of shower heads.
